Need Some Recommendations: Car Seat/Face Cream

Hi There...

I know this question gets asked often, so I am sorry I did not take notes when it was asked....

- New Car Seat....Nathan is still okay by weight standards in his car seat but the length is getting close to capacity....so, we are in search of a new car seat....one that can be converted from rear view to front view, great safety standards and reasonable. We also will get another one for Nate's truck...that will not need to be as fancy but still safe. What all are you using?

- Face Cream: Nathan has had little baby acne for about 2 months and I thought it was lotion so I stopped it and then have been chaulking it up to his daily breathing treatments as I have been told this can cause some irritation. We have his 9 month appt on Friday so I will talk to the pediatrician about it too but wondered if you all have some thoughts on some face cream. A friend told me to get "Mustela"....I have to order it online as I cannot seem to find it at the drugstore. I picked up Aquaphor the other day and have been using it....it does not appear to be helping that much....so, suggestions?

Thanks everyone...hope you all are having a terrific weekend!!!

Ann

LOL...just reading the title of your post...and had to read just to find out what you were going to do w/a car seat and face cream.

I have no suggestions re car seats since there are so many of them out there now....nor do I know what to say about the face cream.  I don't know about the Aquaphore though...to me, in my probably skewed way of thinking...the pimples are there because of a blocked pore...and I'd think the Aquaphore would block them too because it's 'texture' is so much like vasiline...sort of like slathering on grease to a greasy face?  Hopefully the dr has a suggestion...or whatever the Mustela is works...and trust me...I could be way off base w/the Aquaphor too....like I said..it's probably my skewed way of thinking about that...but I thought it was for dry skin, which I don't think is what causes the acne.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

We bought the Graco My Ride 65.   It can be rear facing for up to 40 pounds.   The kids like it and it looks pretty comfortable.   Not too expensive, it's about $150.

We use the Mustela Bebe Face and it's fantastic.   We have also used the erbaviva baby lotion which is also great.

Ann,
Hannah was too long for her carseat long before she outgrew the weight.   In my car we have an Eddie Bauer convertible kind (I think we paid almost $200 for it).  In hubby's car we have the cheapie car seat from Walmart (I think it was around $60).   The Eddie Bauer has more padding and is probably more comfortable for long rides, but they both work great.

Hannah had TERRIBLE baby acne.  Her whole face was covered with in when she was 6 weeks old.  I called the pedi. and was suprised they suggested cetaphil.   Get the cleanser and the lotion in sensitive skin (I couldn't find both in sensitive skin, so I got the normal kind).   Wash his face twice a day and use the lotion after.   Within 2or 3 days her acne was completely gone.  I still use the cleanser to wash her face during bathtime and she gets the lotion twice a day (or more if her face is dry and splotchy).

I hope the cetaphil helps Nathan as much and as fast as it did Hannah!

Hey Ann!

For my car I use the Alpha Omega Elite... I got it on sale for $120... I like it because there seems to be a lot of padding and I figured it would be comfortable for Zach.

Jeff's car we use Graco comfort sport I think it's called. His brother gave it to us. there is less padding in it however it's deeper than the Alpha.... I think you can get the Graco at Sam's club for like $65.

I really struggled looking for a carseat... I think "The First Years" has a really nice/safe car seat for about $180 I forget what it's called... but they compare it to the Britax.

Zach had some redness behind his ears and it looked like try skin almost like exema (sp) they told us to be "T-gel" shampoo on it... but I think the baby acene is different....

Good Luck!!! :)

Hi Ann!
Josiah has those ugly bumps on his face too. My doc said it is a form or eczema. He suggested Cedaphil which hasn't helped. He has them on his ears and now on the tops of his arms. Please let me know what you doc says...

We have 2 different car seats -

Hey girl!  How have you been?  We miss you!

I originally bought the Graco My ride 65 (the one Julie has) We really liked it, but had to return it because it had a tear in the fabric...well just my luck they were out when I went to exchange it and I had to have a car seat because Aethyn outgrew his infant seat....so I got the evenflo Symphony until I decide what I am going to do!  So far we are actually liking it...so not sure yet what we are going to do!  ( I was mad because I got the my ride 65 on sale....well I can't get the sale price again...even though they were out- I need to find a coupon for BRU that was effective on August 1 to get 15% off....Grrr...DH threw mine out I think!!)

This has by far been the hardest decision I have had to make so far!  My stomach turns in knots when I think about it!  There are so many to chose from and I just want the safest for Aethyn!  I looked at the first years one online...it looks really nice!  I think Malena and Lexa have that one!  Our Babies R us sucks....they didn't have that one in store(Not to mention I have to drive 2 hrs to get there)....so....I may try to find it at a different and take a look!

I have no suggestions for you on the face cream....

(PS...I WILL go to the much hated post office tomorrow!!!  LOL!!  It is on my to do list because DH needs stamps!  I have no excuses now!! )

Edited to correct spelling...opps

We have the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat, which we purchased from Sam's Club. It was less than $100 and well worth the money. Little Lenny loves it!

I don't have any recommendations on a face cream but I hope you find some answers.
