The power of positive thinking???

Do any of you use the power of positive thinking?

I have never been a super positive person... don't get my wrong.. I'm not a Debbie downer..... I just don't live in la la land. I've noticed over the past couple years that there are several people that I've been in contact that are real positive thinkers and I just don't know how they do it. I mean- nothing gets these people down or they spin all this negative stuff into something positive.

I've had a lot of "misfortune" through out my life.... It seems like there is a huge black cloud over my immediate family (not really sure what we did in a previous life.....)  I mean there have been many happy moments in my life too and I'm blessed to have one beautiful son and another baby on the way........ but life as a whole hasn't been a peach (not that I expect everything to be happy, easy, fun and perfect).

I just want to know...... how do you keep yourself happy..... how do you turn negative situations into positive ones...... Do you think those people are on drugs? Like Michelle Duggar... I think she's got to be on something awesome.... There I go- I can't wrap my head around someone being truly happy all the time (or maybe they just seem to be....)

Weird thoughts today! lol.......

I have to comment on Michelle Duggar.  With Hannah my pregnancy brain never did completely go away.  With this pregnancy it seems even worse.  I swear I'm going to have to get velcro shoes because I'm not going to be smart enough to tie shoe laces!    Can you imagine what I would be like after giving birth to 18 kids!   I think that is why Michelle Duggar seems so happy.  She really is that clueless lol.  She probably doesn't realize all those kids are hers .

Hahahah.  You had me laughing out loud and I woke up my DH up!  oops!  I have to agree with you.  As bad as my "Mum Dumbs" are right now and this is my first... I can't imagine having 18!  She's just living in a Mum dumb bubble for the past 18 years.

I live by a really weird and stupid motto but it works for me.  "When something goes wrong you can either laugh or cry, but in the end you have to fix it.  If you cry instead of laughing you'll have a headache while you do it"  I know it's stupid but it works.  Also there was a great quote about living with Autism and other problems that helps.  "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain"

If all that doesn't work, just think.  No matter how bad you have it there is always someone worse off than you and to be greatfull for what you have.

We all want to be as organized as Michelle Dugger appears to be.  After those cameras are gone I bet she crawls up in a fetal position on the bathroom floor and cries.  You can not tell me that having 18 kids dosen't sometimes drive her crazy.  I do have to say that I think their faith has alot to do with it.  Without God sometimes I feel I might go crazy.  I have a saint for a husband...I really do.  We all feel inadaquate sometimes.. God bless, Penni

My Mom is the strongest believer in the power of positive thinking - growing up she always used to tell me if I felt like I was getting sick toforget about it and think "healthy" thoughts. I NEVER remember my Mom being sick growing up - and not that I don't remember it - she was really never sick! She does it with everything - when she was battling cancer last year she had the best out look of anyone I ever met - she is now almost a year cancer free.

Keep up those positive thoughts!

Liz

PS - I think that Michelle Duggar has to be on drugs 1) for having 18 kids (I love kids but 18 wow!) and 2) she is way too positive and organized! lol OK so maybe I am jealous! I have no kids and am nowhere near that organized!
