26 Week Appointment
Hi Ladies--
This morning I had my 26w2d appointment and I'm happy to report that all is well with the baby and me. Afterward I brought him to an Irish pub for lunch and he was really diggin' it. Interesting, as the lead name my husband and I are batting around is of Celtic origin.
My stats:
Total gain 17.5 lbs. (that's down 2.5 from 3 weeks ago)
Urine negative for protein/sugar
BP good (has always been.....even when I was morbidly obese at 370 lbs.)
I'm still "marginal" for placenta previa : (
Cervix long and closed
Baby stats:
2 lbs.
breech position (but plenty of time to turn around...not that it matters since he is coming via C-section)
very active
heart rate: 150 bpm
So, basically all is well and I'm thrilled. I will stay on the "no sex" orders for another two weeks due to the marginal placenta previa. I'm not thrilled with that, but my husband and I can deal for the short term. I go back in two weeks for my 28 week appointment and then weekly from that point until our son's arrival on 10/30.
Pregnancy Brain Update:
Today I made the trip to get my repaired engagement ring back from the jeweler. To say I'm lucky is an understatement...the jeweler was able to reshape the band and tighten it's loose stones and it's as good as new! Again, I'm just so thankful my ring caught the brunt trauma of the car door slamming on my hand. Entering new motherhood with a shattered hand didn't sound all that appealing to me.
Today's pregnancy brain episode was at a coffee shop, where I was treating myself to a decaf...and after I ordered the woman asked "What size did you order?" And I had to reply "I honestly don't remember!" Doh! The guy in line behind me was laughing, as was I.
OK, off to get some H2O to drink and then fold laundry...the fun just never stops around here!

Paula, glad your appt. went well and all is going good with you and baby! I am headed out to my 37 week in about an hour!
My pregnancy brain update for you is that I made a phone call yesterday and after it rang twice I forgot who I was calling and had to wait for them to answer so I knew who I called! :-)
