Julie,
When Jer and I got married, I went to Lids (the hat store) and I got him a Packers sideline hat and then had our last name embroidered in it and our wedding date. He really liked it and now he always has a reminder of our anniversary LOL. It wasn't too expensive either... like $35 I think... can't remember exactly.
Happy early anniversary!

Here goes my corny mode...
1) You can print up a little booklet of coupon for various things (massage, kisses, sex, whatever, etc) that he turns in to redeem.
2) Give him a massage with candles and etc
3) Write him a poem of what a wonderful husband/father he is
4) One romantic night away from kids (I know you all have family around to watch the kids)
They all sound stupid but I know you said you wanted romantic and not a "gift" that he might be asking for.

Julie,
How about getting ababy sitter and going for a day out together. something special like maybe where you two went for your first dinner? A show ...something that you can do together. If all else fails.... how about 1,095 pieces of candy....as that is how many days you have been married.
Enjoy which ever it is you decide.
