Nipple Cream Suggestions
Hi Ladies--
Ya, ya...I know, I haven't even had the baby yet and I am looking for nipple cream suggestions. This past week or so, I've noticed MAJOR changes in my boobs. I've had very little pain or tenderness in my breasts during this pregnancy...and that has now changed. I think my husband is about to sign me up for a freak show since my areolas are the size of small pancakes now!
Anyhow...I'm looking to use a nipple cream to see if it helps alleviate the discomfort that my nipples are currently experiencing. Any ideas?
Thank you,
--Paula

Lansinoh (sp). Sold in drug stores in the baby aisle usually and in most grocery stores too. Purple tube and safe to use when nursing. Also great for wounds/scrapes on kids.

Hi paula!
I agree with the suggestions for the purple tube. I tried the Medela kind and lydia hates the taste. The only thing I would add is that when you start leaking colostrum (totally spelled wrong, oh well), squeeze some out and rub it on your nipple, let it dry, then apply the cream. It has healing properties and that really helped me out with my dry, cracked nipples since beginning breast feeding. Also, let ho****er run over them in the shower. Hope they feel better soon!

Paula,
Are you planning on BF'ing? I started using the cream daily when I was in the last trimester. Someone said it would help the baby latch on easier. I guess it makes your nipples softer or something. I also used the kind in the purple tube.
I know all to well about the small pancake look. I'm praying they won't grow anymore with the is pregnancy. If they do when I have my lift/implants I'll also be having a nipple reduction!

Yes Lansinoh is the best one out there!! Using this for like 2 months prior to giving birth will save you from a lot of grief and pain!!!
You can start using it now it will keep you nipples supple and soft.

I am who I am and accept my feelings wholeheartedly.

I tried the lansinoh and a few others and didn't really care for them. About two weeks after Libby was born I was dreading her waking up to eat because my nipples hurt sooooooooo bad. I wanted to cry. Julie suggest Earth Momma Angel Baby Nipple Butter. OMG that stuff is amazing. I got my SIL and BF hooked on it too. Well worth the money.

Lansinoh. Its awesome. Also, I would spend the extra couple of bucks on the Lansinoh brand breast pads. They REALLY help. After you start breast feeding, they also make these really neat ice packs that can pop down into your bra...and I loved those. No matter what your nipples are really gonna hurt during the first couple of weeks, but early lansinoh and some tlc after you start BF'ing will help.
