It's so easy to forget....

It's so easy to forget the important things in life.

I woke up this morning stressed about all the housework I had to do, the fact that it's my mom's birthday and I hadn't bought her a gift, etc etc etc.

I didn't spend quality time with Cooper like I should have.... I sat him in his bouncy-chair and took a shower.  (He sits in his chair in our bathtub while I shower in the shower stall).

And when I came out of the shower I bent down to check on him and got this:

After all my guilt about things I hadn't done and neglecting "quality" time with him this morning I STILL got one of his first smiles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I gave up on this housework, said we'd eat canned soup for dinner (I can grocery shop later) and spent time with my baby!!!!!

In too short a time he'll grow up and I might not get these smiles any more!

Enjoy your family....  I am emotional so will stop writing now!

Before I knew it my "baby" was 5, showering on his own and picking out his kindergarten school supplies .. where did the time go?!

I so can relate, I was OVERLY worried about my housework when Nylah was born I was straight up a b*tch to everyone including DH. I certainly did NOT get to enjoy the young stage because all I was doing was cleaning. So this time I promise myself I will hold my baby more and worry about cleaning less.

It's amazing how things can be snapped back into perspective in an instant, isn't it?

Glad you were able to get rid of/postpone/remedy your stresses in order to enjoy time with Cooper. Not only is he cute, those dimples melt me!

Awwwwwww!! Cindy, he is absolutely gorgeous!!! I love those dimples.....

I'm baby-free tonight so am missing my little man a bit...  He's with his Auntie tonight cuz she wanted to spend some time with him too cuz she works so much...

I'm chillin' at home with my honey & we are spending some quality time together which is also much needed!

Have a great weekend! And enjoy your time with Cooper...

OMG...He's got dimples!  Big, gorgeous dimples!  Mama...you're gonna be in trouble, beating the girls off w/a stick sooner than you know it.

Don't bash yourself on what doesn't get done...appreciate what you did manage to get done - and look for easier ways to do them - like the soup or other quick meal every now and then...or spending one day a week cooking for the rest of the week.  Believe it or not, life will go on if you fix a quick meal rather than a 'home made' meal, or if all the laundry's not folded and put away, or the dishes left overnight in the sink.

Hope you and Cooper found something fun and exciting to do...and that your mom had a good birthday, gift or no gift.
