So I'm not prego yet and my doctor suggested that I wait for 2 years after my RNY to even try....which I'm perfectly fine with waiting.... however I'm just wondering how easy it was for anyone to get pregnant after their surgery.  I've been able to get pregnant in the past but both times ended in a miscarriage.  My periods have never been normal before my surgery (I'm hoping they turn normal now!  lol)    I just don't want to have my hopes up high for these next 2 years and then nothing happen when we try.... I'd love some feedback!  :O)
Excited for the new me!

For many people WLS can "cure" infertility and they go on to have happy healthy pregnancies post-op.  For others, not so much, they continue to have fertility issues that must be addressed in other ways.  Those people too though, will likely have healthier pregnancies at their lighter weight though.  Miscarriges happen, and I don't think they're more frequent or infrequent post op than preo*****op.  Your best bet is to wait until your surgeon says its a good time to begin trying.  Getting pregnant while losing weight from WLS can stall or stop the surgery's intention, and many people have trouble losing after pregnancy, especially if they got pregnant early out.  Some don't, there are exceptions to everything, I'm just saying what I've seen on these boards for the past 4 years.  I, like many women on here, (and you!) had infrequent/abnormal cycles preop.  Post op, things got "normal".  When my doctor gave me the go-ahead to start to ttc I was 15 months out and on the very top range of a normal BMI.  I had gone through about 4-5 years of infertility treatments preop.  The first cycle postop, I got pregnant with my now 3 year old son.  When I was ready, we tried for #2.  I got pregnant on the third try, but lost that baby at 13 weeks.  I don't think that had ANYTHING to do with WLS.  I got pregnant again on try #2 at 38 with my now 7 month old son.  I am very thankful every day for WLS and the opportunity to have a healthier body and to have gotten my two beautiful sons.  Good luck!

I was 215 with my first child and 260 with my 2nd and both took forever to conceive.  My son took 2 yrs and my daughter too 14 months to conceive.

Well I had the IUD out in may and waited till July to start ttc and just got a BFP today!   It only took ONE TIME!!   My doc said to wait a year then I could start ttc.  My weight loss has stopped for the past 2 months and he said we could try at my year visit in June.

I'm fertile myrtle now and I've heard that from a lot of women on here, once they lost all that weight, getting pg was so easy!  GL to you!!!
