moving update
So, DH is going over paper work etc, blah blah blah. So it may not be till after the 1st of the year before we get to move. So, between now and then we are trying to figure out where it is we want to live, and raise our kids?
DH has talked to a few of the other reps in that district and 1 lives in Cheyenne WY. Does anyone know anything about this town? Another rep lives in Grand Junction CO.
So I'm calling on ya'll to fill me in on any info you have on WY and CO? I know, I can google it....and etc. and I will do that but, I like hearing what ya'll have to say too :)
TIA
Ash :)

Hey Ash, I was born and raised in Colorado...absolutely beautiful state! It is definitely a more consrvative state...although probably about the same as Texas...I moved to Washington which is way liberal...I have had a hard time adjusting to that, although I do love it out here due to the climate.
My sister lived in Grand Junction for 10 years, so I have spent quite a bit of time there. Absolutely beautiful..tons of fruit orchards and what not. The down side to CO is the drastic change in seasons...I mean below zero in the winter and over 100 in the summer.
I actually lived in Greeley Colorado which is about 50 miles from Cheyenne. Cheyenne is a cowboy town. Basically the same weather as Colorado except for WINDY!!!! I swear the wind blows there constantly. I have not been to Cheyenne, other than to drive through on my way to Greeley, for about 13 years...so I'm sure things have changed there since I have been there. If I had a true choice I would choose the Western Slope; i.e. Grand Junction of Colorado over Wyoming, but that is just me.
The Rocky Mountains are absolutely gorgeous...absolutely nothing like them! Good luck with your decision! If you have any questions..please feel free to ask, as I am not positive what kind of info you are looking for.

Cheyenne is beautiful! Very country, Nice weather during the Summer, not so much during the Winter...... LOTS of Real Working Cowboys :) Very much a tourist town. Dont really know about real estate etc.... From what we saw/learned if you live out in the country there your closest neighbors are a good 20 miles and many people do homeschooling. I sale lots of our Working Cattle Dogs to Wyoming.
Dont know a thing about Grand Junction, Colorado. To me all of Colorado is just amazing!! :)

Heck girl....you know where we live now....pretty dang rural. I told DH I'd love to live somewhere that has a little more shopping. I get tired of having to drive over 1 hour just to go to Hobby Lobby or heck, any store for that matter.
DH would LOVE to live in Cheyenne. That's his type of town. Me, not so much. I love the country and the wild west theme but, it's nice to be in town with shopping and stuff to do. I grew up in the country and I'm that way at heart but, I don't wanna live out in the middle of nowhere! LOL Even more so if he's gonna be gone from time to time.
UGH I just don't know what to do? LOL
BTW: When is miss Blaze gonna get here?!?!?!

I love the country and the experiences it gives your family and especially your children. Most of all-- if i need to run outside for something,...........i can in my underwear, lol....The horses and cows dont mind, lol. We are 14 miles one way to my sons school, and 32 miles one way to Walmart. I grew up on a large cattle ranch, but we did live in Allen and Plano for many years and it is soooooo nice to have Target 1 block away. Now i order 75% of things online. The UPS, Fed-Ex drivers know me and will stop me if they see me to give me my package, lol
We live so far out and my husband is gone alot, but with 7 Australian Cattle Dogs that love to "Nip" people i feel very secure, lol
Miss Blaze will be here hopefully next week. I was sooo irritated at my Doctor. I am not dialated and she is still very high up and he wont "Try" to induce me with my cervix not being "Ripe". UUUUGGHHH!! If i have not had her on my own by next Thursday they will induce.
Too hot here in Texas for this!!

Ohh no, you gave great info. I guess I'm just looking for opinions about different places. We do have a family so I want it to be a kid friendly town. I can't stand the wind! I grew up in west Texas/Oklahoma in the (panhandle) and omg.....the wind was so bad. I did get snow every christmas as a child and that is something I miss.
Where we live in Texas now...(east) my kids have NEVER seen snow!
As of right now DH is leaning on this district as his choice. Although....we can pick any district we want. We can go back east or we can go up north. My DH likes to hunt and fish so, he really wants to be in the UT,CO,WY district. Me....heck I'm up in the air.....
