It's too bad that your mom won't tell you what happened. But don't assume that because she had problems, you will too. Have you been thoroughly check by your doctor? I would hope that they would be able to give you some insite on this too.

I am an identical twin. I am 33 years old (I will be 34 when this baby is born). This is my third child. My twin sister has had problems with tumors (non-cancerous) and had to have a hysterectomy when we were 24 (they were able to leave her ovaries). She had to have a second surgery 2 1/2 years ago because of a new tumor. She has also has had problems with ovarian cysts. She never had children before the hysterectomy. I have never had any of the problems my sister has!

I am a little concerned with the fact that you have 90 lbs left to lose since you could still go into ketosis. You are only 7 months out. I'll bet you will lose the majority of the remaining 90 lbs fairly quickly. Why not try to wait at least another 5-6 months? The time will fly by and you will be healthier for it.

Take care!

THank you,

Its 90 lbs by my standards.  Dr goal I only have 50 more.  So low end I have 50 to lose and high end I have 90. It all depends on how I look when I get there.

I have an OB appointment today for a thourough exam.

Thanks everyone!

I was a little more than 7 months out and only 43 lbs from goal when I got pregnant.  we didn't try but we clearly didn't prevent well enough. I've lost 16 lbs and am less than 30 from goal now.  I still feel that I"ll get there once baby comes and I'm done breastfeeding. you have to keep cals up during that too!!!

I highly suggest waiting until you hit that year mark or more.  I'm not as concerned about being at goal weight or about money issues or anything like that.

its been hard to eat enough to keep us all healthy.  not even just enough but enough of the right things.

I was 29 when I had my first child and I'll be 34 when this one comes.  just because your mom had issues doens't mean you will.  what does your doctor say about your fertility and female organs?  that is who I'd trust the most.

hugs...wait.
wait. wait. wait.

welcome to the board.. i agree with ash..if we all waited for the perfect time to have children.. we would never have them.. that being said... i do think you should wait at least until your 12 month mark from surgery.... you did have major surgery... the waiting isnt just so you can loose weight... there is malabsorbtion or both vitimans and fats.... anyway... congrats on your weight loss and again welcome!
