You can also try getting a cream called Calmoseptine, it is in a green and white bottle, here you have to ask for it at the pharmacy but you can buy it without a prescription.  It is the greatest stuff I have found to clear up the rashes!

Never heard of it!  I have to go to the Target pharmacy today so I will look into that and the aquaphor.  Thank you!

The last time it was really bad, just like this, we took her to the doctor and they said it wasn't yeast.  I did use corn starch last weekend when we were in Iowa and that worked like a champ. I have two boxes of it at home so maybe I will call DH and tell him to try that until I get home from work.

Josiah had a HORRIBLE rash about a month ago. So bad we took him to the dr. He gave me a script for Nystatin and said to make this "goop" he swears by... equal pts of Nystatin, Zinc Oxide and Hydrocortisone Cream. It worked like a charm...

Funny, Russ made his own "goop" whent he doctor gave him the script for the nystatin.  He used A&D (zinc oxide), desitin and the nystatin.  It worked for a few days.

I agree with the suggestions everyone has given here. I just wanted to add that you can heal a rash quicker if you allow her some diaper-free time so her bottom airs out completely and the rash can dry up.

The only crappy (no pun intended) thing about that is that our house is on the market right now and we have had a LOT of people looking at it the last week or so.  That wouldn't be fun having the shampoo areas of the carpet every time we decided she had to potty.  I am almost thinking about doing cloth diapers for a few days.

Skyler had this same thing happen when she was almost 7 months old while she was cutting her 2 bottom teeth.  She had about 12 pure water-poop-acid type diapers every day!

She had everything Libby had.  Our pedi told us to ditch the wipes.  Only use a warm washcloth.(of course u can't do this on the go)   Then blow dry her butt with cool air from the blow dryer.  Then once it's dry use Dr. Smiths ( I get mine at Wal Mart) cake it on her good.  Then re-diaper.

We did this for about 3-4 days and it was all gone.  I'm shocked it worked so well, because she was so red she bled, screamed and also wouldn't sit on her butt in the bath tub.  She too loves a bath!

Our pedi also said, if the Dr. Smiths didn't work, go to a feed type store and get a utter type cream that farmers use on the cow's nipples to prevent chaffing while nursing.  That was our next step, but the Dr. Smiths worked!

Good luck and I hope poor Libby's hiney get better soon!
