16 Week Appt.

Hello ladies!!!  Hope everyone is doing fantastic today.  Yesterday I had my 16 week check up.  Everything is going well and my OB told me that my uterus is very nice.  When he said that, i was thinking to myself, well that's a first that someone has ever made a "compliment" about my uterus!!!  LOL.  Heart rate is 148 BPM.  We find out on 8/31 if it's a boy or girl.  I can not wait!!!

I do have one question for you ladies.  This is my first pregnancy that has "stuck".  I am still getting "all day" sickness (BOO!) and was hoping it would end by now.  Every night I wake up (multiple times) with charlie horses/cramps in my FEET!  Not my legs but my feet.  I never really had this problem until now.  I would get them in my legs occasionally and feet too but nothing like this.  Is this normal?? What can I do to prevent this from happening.  I hurt so bad last night...

Thanks for listening!

Glad to hear that all is progressing good.  The pains in your feet are just like the pains in your legs...they are muscle spasms.  You should be sure to drink lots of water or decaff items to keep very hydrated, have your labs monitored that you do not have any vit shortages, some people say that putting a bar of soap at the end of your bed under your sheets helps (it lifts the sheet away from your legs and feet to help prevent the flexing of the food in certain directions), other swear by extra potassium.  For me, the only thing that helped was TONS of fluids, stretching and having the baby.  Please note with me the first two only helped a little, the ultimate solution like my Dr said was birth.  Keep baking that little one.

Thanks Jen!  I will have to try those suggestions out!  I do drink lots of water but I will try to up my in take and I am going to try the "bar of soap" trick too!  I'm willing to try anything!  But if nothing works I will just have to deal and just be happy that I am pregnant, at last.

My foot was pointing downward involuntary, so I know how you feel.  Thanks for the response!

I have restless legs syndrome so being pregnant has made it worse. I try to just live thru it but my OB said that Tylenol PM might help.

Thank you! Tylenol of any kind doesn't seem to do anything for me but I sure hope it helps you!

Glad things are going well!  I had my first pregnant leg cramp this morning and it was a doozy!!!!  It was on the SIDE of my calf, not the middle, which I thought was weird and although it lasted much longer than my usual ones (not lately though) it felt normal after it was gone.  YAY.

I was told to eat more bananas...well, I HAVE been!  I've been having one of those Starbucks Vivano Strawberry Banana smoothies every day and apparently, not helping!  Well, it helps with the heat, getting in my protein and sweets craving, that's about it!

Good luck to you!!
