First ultrasound?

Hey Ladies,

When did you have your first ultrasound?  My OB's office doesn't  do the first ultrasound until 12 weeks.  I think that is sooo long.  I am exactly 6 weeks today.

I had early ultrasounds with both pg...but I hear that 8 weeks is pretty much average and 12 is kinda normal too. Yes it would drive me nuts. As long as you aren't bleeding or cramping I would say try not to stress about it and enjoy the bean growing inside of you. I know easier said than done. Congrats! Shari

I had my first one at 6 weeks I think.  But I was higher risk with a history of a miscarriage, so I think that is why. 
I know it is hard to wait, but hope that time fly's by!

A lot fo insurance companies won't cover u/s unless there's a specific reason. That's probably why.

I know it's nerve scrapping. I have them because I have a risk for IUGR, and have had so many miscarriages.

Try and be patient.

My doctors office usually does an ultrasound at 10 weeks.  I just had my first ultrasound and I was 9 weeks.

I had my first ultrasound at 5 weeks as soon as I called for an appointment, they called my a week later and had the first one then another at 9 then every 4 weeks and now I'm 17 weeks and having one on Thur......My doctor is giving me one every 4 weeks.

Here they have you wait till about 18 weeks for the first one. Every place is different I think.
