do do do do, do do do do *sings the theme from The Twilight Zone*

Nah, that's just creepy like the people that spend thousands of dollars on newborn replica dolls and clothing, only to carry them around and pretend they are real.

Right?!  DH and I caught the tail end of some Dateline-type program that showed these adults who spend thousands on baby dolls, walk around in public with them, put them in cribs throughout their home, and treat them exactly as they would a child - except THEY AREN'T REAL.  It was disturbing and one of those situations where we couldn't switch the channel fast enough.

To answer my own question --

I think it's a bit ... odd.  But the scientist in me would be interested in seeing the actual size of the bean growing inside, to feel the actual weight.. especially through all stages of development might be kinda cool.  Models are much better than pictures in many cases.

When I was pregnant with Gabi, I brought home 7 different in-utero babies that were like that.  The ranged in size from about the one in your pic to 8 months.  And they were accurate in anatomy and weight.  One of the teachers lent it to me, but I can't remember why she had it. It wasn't the schools.  Her daughter-in-law was pregnant, also, and they had it from somewhere.

Long story short, they already exist and I used them.  They just weren't made to duplicate MY baby.  Hope I am making sense, I am on percs.
