Monday Weigh In!

Last week I was 188.5 and today I am 185.2!! 3.3 pounds. I'll take it! I have lost just under 55 pounds in 5.5 months. This is the exact weight loss I was shooting for and even though it isn't consistent week to week, the weight does come off eventually.

I spent 7 hours walking this week and have come to the conclusion that if you are not willing to exercise, don't frustrate yourself with dieting. I am ashamed to say that before WLS I had never dieted and exercised at the same time. After WLS I did exercise until I got pregnant but of course it was not enough and not daily.

If I can lose 2 pounds this next week, it will be the least I have weighed in 17 years, before I got pregnant with Savannah and the lowest since WLS I had been is 184.

Good luck to all of you. I hope it is good news all around on the weigh ins this morning.

That is awesome Jennifer!! Good Job!!

I did great for the 1st few days - then ate some fast food and it was alll downhill from there. I gained but this is a new week... and I will do better!!!

Breakfast is the toughest meal for me because I have no time in the morning. Other then eggs, what do you eat for breakfast?

Breakfast in the one meal I am consistant on. I eat an omelete every morning.

2 egg whites 32 calories
1 whole egg 70 calories
1 slice of ham 30 calories
1/4 of a chopped tomato (I don't count vegetables)
1/8 cup FF shredded cheese or FF Feta 25 calories

I'm not crazy about the FF cheese so I don't use a lot of it. This omelete is huge and fluffy and is about 28 grams of protein if I am remembering right. It only takes 5 minutes from start to finish.

Fast food is frustrating. I usually get a grilled snack wrap without cheese and I only eat about 1/2 the wrap and all the chicken. It is hard to know how to count it. I wish we had a Boston Market close by so I could eat that instead. I LOVE their chicken.

Congrats, Jennifer!  Isn't it a great feeling to live life at a lesser weight?  I'm still so happy about RNY and the ways it has made my life better, but moreso that I have the capability to achieve results with diet and exercise, unlike all the failed attempts in the past.  You must have had to purchase all new clothing, bummer (LOL)!

That being said, I'm at a standstill.  It's like I hit the 1 year surgiversary and the scale won't budge.  I'm glad it's not going back up, but I'm frustrated it's not going down.  I really want to get back to the gym and jazzercise, but I have a hernia operation scheduled soon and don't want to pay the membership only to have to put it on hold for a few months...isn't that silly?  Not to mention that finding daycare for 3 kids a couple hours a day is expensive.  I know; excuses, excuses.

Anyway, I'm working on upping my fluid intake this week (VERY bad on this in the past) and perhaps a good nights' rest will help too :)

Hugs and happy weigh-in, everbody!

I'm sorry you are at a standstill. It must be hard with 3. It is hard enough with 2. I hope you have a good week. I forget sometimes how newly out you were. I was 8 months out and never lost again but I always gain while nursing since I am ravenous.

The fluids should help and maybe you could start with just 15 minutes of exercise a day. Even if you jog in place or walk around the block it will help.

So proud of you and your accountability! I have to say you are quite the inspiration and I have very few days left until I join. Although my first weigh in will not be until 2 weeks after Savannah is born (just a personal thing). So as of today I weigh 250 lbs....outrageous but I WILL get the weight off. I did twice before and I WILL this time.

I know you can do it too! I weighed less at my 3 week check up then I did at my 6 week check up. I gain and gain after having my kids but I didn't gain a lot during my pregnancies. It seems that people who gain alot lose it all in the first 6 weeks. You will have to drink a ton of fluid to flush all the water out.

I had a friend that was pregnant at the same time I was pregnant with Reagan (8 months post op). She gained 62 pounds and lost 45 by her 6 week check up. I only gained 2 pound (lost 16 gained 18) and only lost 20 pounds. It seems like we lose what we gain.

Congrats Jen.......that is awesome!

Me......the same. I am the same freaking weight! UGH. I even did the 5 Day Pouch Test last week. Not that I expected to lose a couple pounds just because of it, but I certainly didn't expect to be the same. I even exercised M-F. So I am at a loss. I have been exercising, watching my foods, drinking tons of water. I have been consistent with eating healthy since I got home from hospital, over 3 months ago. I have been exercising since 6 week check up. My goal was to lose 15 pounds by August 2nd. That is a little less than 5 pounds per month. I felt like that was a realistic goal. Instead, I have lost 5 pounds. Thats it.

I am frustrated, upset and annoyed. I am not giving up but the confidence level is dropping drastically. I am trying really hard to stay positive. Johnny is really great with encouraging me, supporting me and keeping me on track.

I just don't know what I am doing wrong. *sigh*

Oh well.......enough whining from me. LOL

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
