Question about irregular menses.

Hello Ladies, my name is Amanda I am Vanessa's sister. I had Lap RNY and am looking for some help on TTC with such an irregular cycle.

**I have past history of ovarian cysts and only have one ovary.** Please don't take this post as a sob story since I do have two healthy children, just looking for some help/advice at this point.

Has anyone experienced bleeding more days out of the month than not? Just out of curiousity I bought ovulation predictor just to see if I even ovulated and nope. What did you do to get the bleeding under control? Birth control seems to help but as soon as I stop the pills the irregular bleeding returns. I would like to start ttc again so any advice would be great.

Hi Amanda. I have some experience TTC and follow lots of girls here that are TTC as well. (of course I am not a doctor). I am not sure about all the bleeding, did it start after you lost your ovary? The only other person I know that had excessive bleeding was my best friend after she had her tubes tied. She had very bad cycles and became severely anemic with low iron due to the blood loss. Now they inserted an IUD to help her hormone levels regulate and she is much better.... I guess like you and your birth control. Do you have regular length cycles??

The first piece of advice I have is go see a doctor. The blood loss isn't good. Also, having anovulatory cycles isn't good for ttc. You need some expert advice. Not that I am discouraging you from hearing what others might have to say about their experiences here...just that I think you need more help than the message board...especially if you want to ttc. A reproductive endocrinologist would be great if your ob can refer you.
