Swollen

So i'm between 10-11 Weeks along and have been swollen in my feet/ankles and my fingers (can't wear my rings).... I've been drinking lots of water.....But my feet and ankles especially are sore and hurt to touch.

Is it normal to become swollen so early on in pregnancy? I never got swollen with Zach.

Thanks!

I think it is possible, Kyle Beth, but it may be more due to a reaction to the weather or extra salt in your diet?  May be worth a call to the OB...  keep us posted!

Anytime I hear anyone mention being swollen, I automatically wonder if it's because of high blood pressure.   Could your hubby check your blood pressure for you?
I would call your OB Monday if you are still swollen (or even before then if it gets worse).
Good luck!

Hi Kyle Beth,

From what I've read, swelling is normal in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Did you have any pre-existing health conditions pre-pregnancy?  HBP etc.? If you do have hypertension, It is important to account for every single thing you put in your body during this pregnancy.

Make sure that you aren't deficient in any of your vitamins  and minerals.  I remember someone having swelling because of a deficiency - zinc??

The best thing is to just take care of yourself - eat healthy and exercise. Keep your weight down.

Best,

L

I actually have low blood pressure... always have... but it becomes even lower while i'm pregnant.

I'm going to call the doctor and find out.. the swelling isn't as bad as it was... I did just fly last week and I hear that can cause swelling.

Thanks,

Kyle

Good it has gotten better. Glad you don't have HBP.

I just edited my post cause I didn't want to alarm you.  I freak out a bit because my mom is on dialysis.  So many people (many so young) blow their kidneys out  from untreated HBP. and I worry.

When I was very briefly preg (5 .5weeks) I immediately bloated up.  I actually went out and bought new clothes because the clothes on my waist line were tight, my breasts were big and sore, and now that I remember my rings fit tight and so I just didn't wear them.  Hormones I guess - I wasn't eating any more than usual.

They say every pregnancy is different so maybe this one is just different for you.
