Nausea that doesn't go away with eating plus cramping?

Starting Thursday night, I have been feeling nauseous to the point of almost dry heaving, but not quite that night I also started having cramping in my lower abdoment almost down by my pubic bone.  The cramping is pretty localized to right or left side, but jumps around and can be sharp pain at times, not just the dull cramping.

I also have nausea with it that does not get better with eating.  Almost makes it worse, actually.  I am still eating (albiet bland food) and drinking water.  I had a BM yesterday, no fever and am passing gas, but when I (TMI, sorry) 'push', my abdomen hurts.

I had a u/s (trans vag) last Thursday and the bean looked good.

Does it sound like regular pregnancy cramping(uterus stretching)/morning sickness or am I freaking out for thinking bowel obstruction?  Or maybe it''s just a bug.

No m/s up to this point (8w5d) so it's weird. I thought eating was supposed to get rid of the nausea of morning sickness, not make it worse either?

Anyway, thanks for letting me ramble.

I was kinda told that MS didn't get bad until around 8 weeks so maybe thats what kicked in. Mine actually started around 6 weeks and eating made it worse. I don't know if this is normal or if it is wls related but it's what happened to me. And as for the cramping I would have that too almost felt like ovary pain I asked the Dr. and he said it was ligaments stretching so I took his word for it and all was fine, but asking your Dr. about all this isn't a bad idea. It will give you some peace of mind also. All this stuff is normal I guess I just didn't know what normal was ( 1st timer) so I was super scared and nervous but here I am at 20 weeks with a healthy baby boy so I guess it was normal after all. I hope that the nausea and pain gets better real soon for you, until then P&PT's.

IMHO, sounds very much like normal pregnancy stuff, especially given that you were able to have a BM. Are you actually vomiting every time you eat? Is the cramping directly related to eating, or just off and on throughout the day? How much water are you drinking? Dehydration can cause a lot of abdominal cramping as well as bowel issues. As the pp stated, MS symptoms often don't start until 7-8 wks. Eating always made me feel worse, but I still forced myself to snack on oyster crackers and egg salad. Sounds gross, but they were 2 foods that agreed with me.

Trust your instincts though. If you suddenly feel very different or the pain isn't just stretching and a few sharp jabs, call your OB. They would much rather see you and find you in good health than have you go it alone and have possible complications, ya know?

I'm going to add to what Jo says by saying that RNY and DS patients dehydrate faster than people who have not been modified. You also need more fluids during pregnancy to help blood flow to the baby.  It sounds like normal M/S to me....so far, but do call your doc if any of the things Jo mentioned happened, or if your urine is dark in color.

Eat small, bland, protein laden meals. That helps sometimes. Try sucking on some lemon drops or eating frozen grapes....There's a hundred  at home remedies....hehe.

Try and relax and keep us posted.
