Hi Samara! Thanks so much for your input! Nah, I'm not tall ... I'm 5'4". I think I just stayed pretty small because of my tummy tuck. Things are pretty darn tight in there right now! The case you mention with your friend is exactly what I am afraid of. While I have worked really hard to get to this point in my head in terms of being prepared for an unmedicated birth, it just may not be in the cards, and I have to keep in mind that the baby's health is the most important thing. So, if I need help dialating, I guess I prefer that to waiting too long and having to have a C-Section. Thanks for checking in!

I went 42 with my first, 41 with my second.

The first I was induced - labor sucked.  Tried to be medicated, it failed.  Bummer.

The second I wasn't, and labor was a breeze (relatively speaking of course).  No meds.

I would be okay with 42 weeks I think, if my midwife/doctor was. Based on her size and the amniotic fluid and everything, it seems that Monday induction is the best plan. Better to have meds to induce labor than a c section because she's in distress. Sigh, SO not my plan.

Good morning (or afternoon now)!  You've already made it halfway through one more day...yipee!!

Ok, so I totally understand how you're feeling.  I have no experience with stripping membranes, but I have lots of experience with being at the end of pregnancy and the discomfort and attitude that comes with it.  You're right that the sleep doesn't improve with birth, but it is definitely easier to have the physical part of pregnancy behind you.  I had a couple prenatal massages in the last weeks and they were WELL worth the money.

Let us know how your appointment goes and I'm thinking of you!  Beautiful pics, BTW.  You look fantastic!

Hugs,

Jo

Thank you so much, Jo. I appreciate your thoughts and support! It didn't really go the way I wanted it to today. Not dialated or effaced at all, and based on her weight, size, amniotic fluid, and that car accident I had a week and a half ago, doctor and midwife feel its best to induce Monday with meds. Because I wasn't dialated at all, they wouldn't do anything with the membranes - no point. I bargained my way into getting the weeked to see if my body does its thing this weekend, but I have to do what's best for the baby.

Thanks for the compliments, too! :) You're a sweetie!
