OMG, these are the worst!  I get them all day and night!  Why?  Has anyone else experienced this and what have you done to ease the pain?

Leg cramps just come with the territory I have no idea why. BUT as crazy as this sounds...prepare yourself it sounds completely  NUTS but it has worked for me the whole time, I don't know why or how this works either my DH thinks I have lost my mind but I am telling you for me it works! I  heard it somewhere else and you can google it too! So anyway I took a bar of soap opened it put at the foot of my bed between the top sheet and bottom sheet right out of foots reach! Again nuts I know but hey it works and that is all that matters to me! I swear I have not had a leg cramp since doing this AND I have had them when napping on the couch! See so for me it works!
Good Luck!!

Mine are so severe I have blacked out. It was low potassium, so I take the pills and eat 2 banana's a day. They stopped when I started doing this, now I don't get any.

All of the above are good suggestions! And ask your dr too!

For night time leg cramps, I've used quinine. I used to buy the over the counter sublingual tablets but i dont think they sell them in the stores anymore. last time i bought them, i got them online. I think the fda has banned many of the quinine products. Tonic water still has quinine in it- maybe you'd be getting the benefits of both? Ask you dr 1st !

Hope you feel better soon!

I can completely identify.  I used to get them so bad I would bruise (B4 WLS)- then I found Quinine.  BUT there have been FDA reports about it's safety, so in pregnancy it would be a BIG no no.  I dont think you can get ahold of it anymore.  Since I lost the majority of my weight they stopped.  Try having your labs checked to make sure you are properly hydrated and your Potassium is okay.  Then try the bar of soap in the bed (I believe it helps a lot of people because it keeps your foot from flexing into a position that can trigger the cramp).  I do stretching before bed, drink lots (avoid caffine- it dehydrates you).  My Dr told me there was one ultimate solution- delivery!  Nice. Good luck..and I have been feeling your pain  nightly for about 4 or  5 weeks.

The one and only time in my life where I had these was while I was pregnant :)   For me, it was potassium issues and 1 bananna added to my diet daily did the trick.  I literally woke up crying in the middle of the night with them so bad... Sorry about that pain and I hope you're able to fix it quick.

Nothing does the trick for me - I drink and drink and drink, nothing.
I can't do banana's - I dump like a truck. Potassium pills didn't work either.
I haven't tried Beth's soap theory but hopefully I only have a few days left.
But I get them - at least 3 a night. Some so painful I can't even walk it out. Somehow I've learned to deal. I think I'm trying to convince myself that if I can get through leg cramps I can get through labor - haha!
