OK, im upset and uhappy.  I told my job i was preggo and my boss(owner of the CO) says" Can pregnant women still work? OMG are you kidding me??

Since then ive lost hours, my insurance and now they are hiring someone else to pick up part time hours. Their problem is they dont want to pay anyone insurance.

What would you do? Do i look for a new job 4 months pregnant?

WOW - if they are going to treat you like that then YES! I would start looking! Sounds like you have nothing to loose if they already took your insurance. Jerks!

How are you feeling???

Wow! that is a really unplessant situation! I am sorry... I can't believe your boss actually said that! I can't believe in todays day and age anyone actually thinks that.

Anyways, are you showing yet? If not I would look for another job. You need insurance. If you go more than 62 days without insurance its considered a lapse in coverage and your pregnancy will be considered a pre existing condition and they will not cover anything! I wish you much luck in your situation and please keep us updated.

I would talk to a lawyer - it's discrimination. A pregnant woman can wor****il the baby arrives or the doctor puts a stop to it.

Trying to find a job is hard enough these days - I would talk to someone.

I think you need to talk to someone i your HR department. This sounds like they are discriminatig because of your pregnancy - sooo illegal! If there isn't someone in your HR departmet, then you need to contact a lawyer ... they can't do that to you!

What they are doing is actually illegal if it is BECAUSE you are pregnant.  I would definately consult a lawyer.

As others have already told you, consult a lawyer about it... I was in this situation (but was thru a temp service & had 120 days in when it happened) and I couldn't do anything about it... Had I been a FT employee of the company and paid through them, I could have nailed them for pregnancy discrimination...

My first thought was discrimmination as well.  Go to HR 1st and document EVERYTHING just in case.

Good luck, but yes, I would look for a new job.

I am starting  to look for a new job.  Bad thing is I work for a very small company. Only two of us in the office and 5 total including the owners. the other employee is there cousin. So its tight knit for them. And I know if it comes down to it they with back each other up.

Not sure what will happen but thanks for the advice.
