weight gain in trimesters
Thanks for all your advice and answers. I KNOW that I need to get more active again. I have been so tired and havn't exercised at all in weeks. I feel like my post op life is falling apart
my exercise is gone, I feel like I need to eat every hour or so or I get so sick I can't even pick my head up. I have no energy at all. I also have been unable to stomach any protein shakes. I do ok with protein foods and have made every attempt to get the correct number of protein in that way. BUT my drinks had so much fewer calories. I am just hoping that soon things will get back a bit to normal.
One thing that I need to have checked is my sugar. I was hypoglycemic with my other pregnancies and I think that I may be dealing with that again also. BUT the only thing to do for that is frequent meals.
I really feel like all my work is going to go down the tubes.

Diane, I gained over 70 lbs. with my daughter (many years ago), but that's part of what led me down a path of obesity... I just spent some time looking for a book I have about nutrition, but couldn't find it, darnit!! It actually has calorie suggestions for a pregnant woman by trimester as well as how much weight should be gained. What I can tell you from memory, is most of the 25-30 lbs. of weight gain should come in the 3rd trimester due to the baby gaining in weight during that time.
If you don't have a book - go to the bookstore or library and check some out. They are well worth reading and might also help you with meal planning while pregnant. I got some great ideas for good health and meals from reading the book.
If I'm fortunate enough to get pregnant again, this will be a very different pregnancy for me. Both in terms of age and weight. I developed a medical condition while pregnant with my daughter that went undiagnosed, leading to much of my weight gain during pregnancy and years afterwards. Thankfully, that's completely under control and I'm better prepared this time. Ironically, my starting weight now is nearly identical to my starting weight the 1st time :)
