38w3d Appointment
So my appointment was yesterday at 3:45pm - upon arriving to the docs office - I knew it was going to be a long night. There were people waiting in the hallway. We walked in and the waiting room was packed - not one chair to sit in (you would think the girl that had her sister, her mother, her best friend, and her nephew would've told one or two of them to get up so the pregnant people could sit down, but no, I guess that was too much to ask.) So I signed in and we went and sat in the car for about an hour. When we went in there were finally some seats - but still 6 people ahead of me. I didn't get in to see the doctor until 5:25pm. At which time he did a cervix check. He said (again) - I can feel his head, he's right down there, but the bad news is...you're not dilated at all. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! So if I'm not dilated next week, he's going to do a membrane sweep (which I heard I don't want, that they aren't very comfy.)
So last night, I have the worst night EVER when it comes to sleeping and being comfortable. Every time Drew moves - my groin area hurts. I slept MAYBE 3 hours total last night (of coarse in increments.) I woke up this morning and wanted to start my maternity leave but decided that since he could be late, I would be better off not starting it. However, I will probably start the 3rd if he hasn't arrived by then (my due date is 2nd.)
So please someone tell me that they went from 0" dilated to having a baby on or before their due date. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready.

Time for the old wives tales! What is it - a bumpy car ride, sex, scrubbing floors and lots of walking? lol
Here's to hoping that Drew makes his appearance this weekend! They are calling for some strong thunderstorms here in PA tomorrow, maybe the barametric pressure will bring him on! Hoping for the same storms in NY of course...

If my car didn't already need shocks, we would totally be taking the bumpy car rides. I was thinking about having one of Andy's uncles taking me on the motorcycle - haha.
As for sex - the doctor did say "I didn't tell you this but go home and have sex once or twice a night for the next week - you'll become dilated." Andy goes "niiiiiiiice" and I said "doc, having sex is the last thing I want to do, let alone having it twice a night." He thinks I'm a "spitfire" (his words not mine!)
I'm hoping he comes this weekend too. I have a family reunion on Sunday so Saturday would be perfect :-)

I did! I did! Niko was so far down there, it felt like he was crowning and I was walking like I had a basketball in my underwear...hehe. Three days after the doc told me he could feel his head down there, I had a SERIOUSLY uncomfortable night. The next morning I woke up and our border collie was all under my feet. She wouldn't even let me go into the bathroom by myself. Then at dinner(around 5pm), Alex said something and I started laughing and immediately started sobbing--for no reason. I called my mom and she said "That's it. When you get to the laughing and crying stage, you can go any minute." 30 minutes after the dinner "episode"(which Alex still brings up) I started contracting....went in and was five centimeters. It does happen. Be prepared. BTW- I was 37 weeks.
And take care of yourself lady.

In all honesty Jodi - I wouldn't mind him coming ON his due date. But not being dilated at all and having people tell me it's goin to be another TWO weeks - that's too much.
I'm hanging, unpatiently hanging...
I think if I was home it wouldn't be such a big deal because I have things to do there but being at work and having them run me ragged (FDA Audit) is NOT my idea of relaxing :-(
