Feeding solids question, update and photo

Hello!  My Anna will be 6 months at the end of the month, I can't believe it!  We just moved into our new house and life has been crazy.  I don't post much but I read often.

I have a question on feeding solids.  Anna is on solids twice a day, I give her fruit and oatmeal in the morning and a veggie and rice cereal in the evening, when do you start a third feeding?

When did you give your little one dairy?  I read that you can start yogurt and cottage cheese at 6 months, then I read another place that you wait until 8 months.  She has her 6 month appointment in August and I will as her dr then, I am just curious to what other people are doing/did.

Anna is a good baby, she stared sleeping through the night when she was 8 weeks old, but lately has been up a few times a night.  Other then that all is well.   Here is a picture from last weekend at the drive in when we went to see Harry Potter.  Of course Anna was asleep before the opening credits, but it was a nice date for me and my hubs.  Notice the sweater, summer in Buffalo has been sucking big time this year!  Thanks!

RNY on 12/14/04 with
Aethyn is 9 1/2 -10 months old and I just started to give him baby yogurt a couple weeks ago.  I know you can earlier, but I just wasn't ready.  We tried shredded cheese today, it was messy, but he loved it.  I have not done cottage cheese yet.  I would just check with her Dr to make sure first.
I also just started giving Aethyn 3 "meals"...as advised by his Dr because we can't get him to take formula very well.  He won't use a bottle anymore-so we are just doing sippy cups.
Right now I do:

Morning: Oatmeal or rice cereal (Mixed with 4 oz formula) & yogurt and whatever formula I can get him to drink from a sippy cup...usually 1 maybe 2 oz

Lunch: 1/2 Jar Stage 3 "dinner" with 1/4-1/2 Jar stage 3 Veggie and same for fruit (he gets both) and whatever formula I can get him to drink from a sippy cup...usually 1 maybe 2 oz

Dinner: Oatmeal or Rice Cereal (Mixed with 4 oz formula), 1/2 Jar stage 3 Fruit and whatever formula I can get him to drink from a sippy cup...usually 1 maybe 2 oz

That's just what we are going right now...we are getting ready to drop one of the oatmeal's and do an actual dinner.

HTH a little!

She's Beautiful!  I love that sweater too!  Bryson is on 3 meals now (about a month older).  We do something like fruit and cereal for breakfast, veggies and cereal for lunch and veggies or stage 2 meat plus a little fruit at dinner.  Good luck!

Erin, Anna is gorgeous!

Gabi was a horrible eater, so I am not much help there.  She would only eat cereal baby food.  Now she eats 3 meals and snacks a day.  Good luck!

She is so freaking cute! I didn't start dairy until she was a year old per doctors orders. She is on lactose free milk now as she can't tolerate it...but does do a little yogurt and cheese. I would probably wait until you get the okay from your doctor. Also be sure to introduce one new food at a time, so if she does have a reaction you will know exactly what it is. Emma got really bad bum rashes from carrots. And she vomited regular milk. Good luck. Shari

Hey Erin!

Anna is adorable and I love that sweater!  We've been having the same crap weather in VT.  Who knew fleece would be so handy in July?!  We haven't been to the drive-in since I was PG with Everett, but it's so much fun.  How was the new Potter movie?  Heard there were record sales opening night...

I honestly don't remember on the feeding thing since it's been 4 years.  I'm sure I'll be asking the same questions when Everett is at that stage.

Glad you are all well and congrats on the new home!

Hugs,

Jo
