16 Week Appt. A little early...

So I won't every schedule a "month" appt before that actual week again...makes time drag! lol

Everything is looking really good, urine good, BP was 117/76, weight was up 5 pounds (I hate afternoon appts!! lol) but still down one since my first appt. so she said that was really good.

Baby's Heartbeat was 164...very consistent and she found it right away as soon as she placed the doppler on my tummy...very reassuring!!

I have been feeling very inconsistent movement but movement non-the-less. Hubby doesn't believe it is baby, anyone else have that problem? lol

I have been feeling pretty fantastic since having that migraine 2 weeks ago...I told the doctor that medicine was a miracle drug! Took away my morning sickness as long as I eat a good breakfast and nice wholesome foods (not processed junk) I feel really good.

Well I guess that is the jist of my update...a very good one overall...also we scheduled the Anatomy scan for August 20th!!! I will be exactly 20 weeks...we are not sure if we will find out the sex of the baby or not...we cannot decide lol anyone else have had that problem? Any advice?

Have a great day!!!
~Flora

Sounds like your appointment went a lot like mine.  I am 15 weeks 3 days today.  My BP was about the same as yours as well as my weight gain (maybe 3 pounds).
Baby's heartbeat was 152 and it took a minute because baby was moving but the doc got it and the jellybean actually stayed still for awhile (it was awesome).
My anatomy scan is in three weeks (on 8/11) and then my next doctor appointment on 8/18.

Congrats on a successful appointment Flora. I can't believe you're already 16 weeks - time is flying!

I felt my baby move around 15 weeks but wasn't sure it was the baby until he really started to move - then I confirmed that what I had been feeling a few weeks prior was indeed the baby. We can feel a lot more than the men can - so when your hubby tells you he doesn't believe you - tell him you don't need him to :-)

As for finding out the sex of your baby - it's really a personal choice. I HAD to know. I'm very much a planner (and don't like little boys in yellow very much) and wanted to know so that I could buy things without having to decide if it looked "girly" or "boyish". Either way you'll be happy. My decision was just all based on shopping :-)

Also super glad that you're feeling a lot better!

Congrats on a great appointment and being almost halfway through the pregnancy! I'm excited for your anatomy scan.

We had the Dr write baby's gender and seal in an envelope (since DH couldn't be there and I was the one who wanted to know and patience isn't one of my strengths. We opened the envelope together that night because DH decided he couldn't wait either. Maybe you both won't decide until you're at the appointment? I'm a huge planner so I just didn't like the idea of not knowing, though I admire those who wait it out!

Glad the sickness is better!

Good luck and hugs,

Jo

That is definitely my problem...I love to plan and I hate figuring out what is girly or boyish too...its going to be a tough decision but I bet we will end up finding out...we are terrible about surprises...we only kept our pregnancy a secret for about three days lol

I didn't find out with my first but did with  this one.  I will tell you that I feel it's been even better this time around because I'm able to call her a her and talk to her rather than baby or it! :)   I also felt it was just as big of a day when I found out from the US as when I found out giving birth.
Just same random thoughts. . :)
