Thought I'd update for the few that know me :)
I am working on my 8th pregnancy – I’ve had 5 miscarriages, 1 ectopic, my daughter is 3 ½. We’ve been trying since Paige was 3 months old for another and with prayers, luck, and a great Dr our first round of IUI worked! I’m due Dec 21st, my daughter’s 4th birthday. :)
We made it past our scary mark, which is 11 weeks, we made it past all the blood tests, my Downs test came back 1 in 175 so we had our 2nd level 2 ultrasound for that and we are in the clear… we have a very healthy 17 weeks old baby boy on the way!!
DH, Paige, and I are going with Donna, Tina, Kaden, and Bryson to Hawaii in 2 weeks – we took our babymoon there with Paige and are celebrating again!!!
To all of you out there that have had a miscarriage, or a few, hang in there. My heart hurt every month and my body teased me every month with being late… every month for years I had hope – then I was crushed. It’s even worse when you see the extra pink line and then it disappears, it aborts, or the tiny flicker stops – but we waited, we had faith, and we are blessed with a perfectly healthy boy – keep the faith!!

Yes, Faith works - although it's SO HARD and I threw my hands up many times begging for the answer to my "WHY" 's... but when I held Paige and when I see the boy (being reffered to by Paige at this point as "the penis") on the ultrasound screen... I get my answer.
I've met you before at Donna and Tina's, and I am so happy to hear that you are well on your way to having a happy and healthy son! I know its been a long process for you, and you and your husband are SO great ... there aren't two more deserving people! Have a super fun time in Hawaii, and I wish you a happy and healthy remainder if your pregnancy!
I was VERY proactive this pregnancy. I started going to a hematologist on my own before I saw a fertility specialist when my OB seemed to hit a wall - I knew that something just wasn't right. They took 14 tubes of blood and came back with my b-12 was very bad and my iron levels were so poor I needed to be put in the hospital. Why didn't any of my blood draws show this?? My iron was supposed to be between 70- 100, mine was 3. I did several months of infusions to get my levels up along with weekly b-12 shots and twice daily sublingual b-12 tablets. When my levels were good I saw the fertility specialist along with my OB and also kept seeing the hematologist. My hematologist prescribed a shot that was basically a blood thinner that I was to inject in my tummy 2 x's a day as soon as I got pregnant. My OB saw me earlier than normal when I tested positive and I insisted that they take my blood twice a week to check for an HCG increase and progesterone levels - they didn't have a problem doing it considering my history. I did not have to take progesterone after I got pregnant since my twice weekly draws showed that my levels were great. But what I learned was to be very nice, but totally insistent and educated about the process.... all the while not being arrogant toward the DR... I always remembered that he knew more about medicine - I but I knew more about me. Best of luck!! ~Kim
