QUESTION FOR TWIN MOMMIES OR EVERYONE..

Is it safe to put both babies in a crib?
Has anyone done this? I can only afford one and I really dont have space for 2 cribs, since the babies will be sleeping in the room with bf and I.
I go see my high risk doctor tomorrow and im going to ask, but the thought just came to mind just now b/c I was looking at cribs.
I also saw this product The First Years Air Flow Sleep Positioner by Learning Curve - Learning Curve - Babies
I was thinkin of buying 2 and that way they can both sleep in the same crib, again just an idea any thoughts or suggestions I would really appreaciate it.

I worked in the NICU for a number of years. We put our twins in the same cribs sometimes...seemed to help soothe them quite a bit. Not sure what the official word is, but I would think it would be okay for at least a little while.

Yes on the crib, I have been told no on the positioners (although people do use them). Apparently the positioners pose a suffication risk. My mom put my twin siblings in the same crib and i know of several people who have done that with their twins until they were like 6months to a year or so. they shared a womb... why not?

It's perfectly fine for a little while.  I had my twins in a twin bassinet for the first 2 and a half months in my room and then we moved them into their cribs.

You will eventually have to buy a second crib.  Aside from the fact that my twins would be smacking each other if they were in the same crib, they wouldn't fit.  I think you will be able to get away with it for about 5 or 6 months, maybe.

Not sure on the twins question but I had that exact same positioner. Somehow Emad seemed to find a way to wiggle out of it so never really bothered with it and did better with a blanket rolled and placed behind his back with him sleeping on his side.

The sleep positioners IMO are a waste of money!

As far as the cribs go....it is your call until they get "moving".  My pedi advised against crib sharing and ALWAYS asked me at their well check ups if I had 2 seperate cribs for them (mine were born 8 weeks early so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not).  I did have 2, but while they slept in my room they shared a crib becauseI sure didn't have room for 2 in my room LOL.  At about 4 months we moved them into their own cribs

My SIL put my nieces in the same crib for a while.  When they started needing more space, she moved one to a portable crib/ playpen.

I put my twins in the same crib for like the first 5 months.  Then we had to set up the second crib, they started rolling around more and would actually try to lay on top of each other!  It is perfectly fine until they start moving around more.
