OK ladies-- Question about BD'ing and a Rant
Ooooo I have totally been all over that ever since last cycle. I got him a men's formula multivite from walmart, I'm gonna have to get him extra zinc today! We both have cut out all caffeine from our diet. Although I did hear it's beneficial for men to have a little bit of caffeine before BD time because it makes the swimmers faster!

Are you sure of your ovulation time? Have you done the ovulation prediction tests to be sure? There is a huge misconception about when women ovulate and they sometimes go by online guides that say "bd 14 days prior to your period". Not all women are the same. For instance I had a 30 day cycle but my time from o to af was only 10 days so I ovulated on cd 20. If I would have gone by the online guides I would have bd for cd 16 and totally missed my window. Just asking because I would hate for you to miss your window. Also weight isn't really a factor in mens fertility all the time. It is recommended every other day if he has low sperm counts, but every day is good if his counts are fine. Also, sperm live for up to 5 days...so if you are sure of your ovulation you can start early just in case. Eggs live only 24 hours so if you are sure of ovulation, really no sense in bd past one day after o. Hope this helps. Remember the average healthy couple takes 8 months to conceive. I know patience is tough when you want it now. Good luck. Shari
Hey Shari,
Actually the first month we were TTC I thought my cycle was every 28 days so I was BD'ing at the wrong time. Then next month (may) I bought the clear blue digital ov kit and I was actually Oing on CD 23 with a 36 day day cycle. So I deff know when OV is happening now. It's weird I can actually feel it with cramping, sore bbs the whole nine. I'm pretty sure hubbys swimmers are OK because we did concieve in Feb with the chemical pregnancy. I hate waiting! lol

Sorry Lexa, guess I should have clarified more, I was just on FB and looking at this 19 year old I knew when she was younger and shes preggo with an un-known baby daddy. Then there are a couple girls my age in college who are "knocked up" in every sense of the word. No partner or anything. Didn't mean to offend you!

Let me 1st tell you that I understand how you are feeling... I went through that issue for years & years... Everyone was pregnant around me and I could do it every single day and still not get pregnant... It took me having surgery in 2004 to get to a point where my body was normal & I ovulated a little more regular... And it STILL took me til March of 2008 to get pregnant....
I dont know how long you've been TTC but I will tell you from years of experience... It doesn't happen overnight for everyone... Some are lucky and don't have to try for long... Some go for years and years before it happens... And some can do everything under the sun to conceive and it may never happen... It's a waiting game and it's something you have to learn to be patient about... When it's your time, it WILL happen...
As far as hubby, I can tell you from experience that I know my ex had a low sperm count and he was heavy... It might be a good idea to have his "swimmers" checked out to see... There are definitely things that can be done to help that issue too... I'd have it checked out that way you know what's going on with him too... Because if your body is working correctly and his count is ok, it's just a matter of timing...
I wish you lots of luck and baby dust....
