How do you know what size to buy??? I've heard you should bring one to the hospital if you plan to breast feed. This is my  first time at breast feeding, so how should I go about picking a size??

Hey Shannon the girl at Motherhood told me to go up one cup and one band size! I haven't bought any yet as I keep putting it off but I didn't find some nice ones at walmart didn't buy them yet but they looked pretty good in comparison to Motherhood and were $4-6 cheaper!

Thanks Beth....I can't believe how nervous I am about breastfeeding.  I am going to give it a good try, I promised myself that I would..I just feel bad about my husband and son not being really able to help with the feedings. My son (who's nine) can't wait to feed his sister. I have to find out about the whole pumping thing too. I am taking a breastfeeding class on August 1st, so hopefully it can shed some light to my concerns..

Hugs,
Shannon

I bought one from wal-mart yesterday, it was very comfy and I made sure I had plenty of room to fill it. I went up one band and cup size.

Just remember with BF you have your good days and a lot of bad days, if you can get past the first 2-3 weeks your all good. Def look into a pump because sometimes when your milk comes in the baby can't drink that much to empty them and they just keep getting fuller and fuller and very hard and sore. Then your boobs are so hard it's hard for the baby to nurse...I was dying, hubby had to run out and buy cheap pump at walgreens 10pm one night...I will not do that again!

Good Luck :)

Ask your insurance company about breast pumps.  More and more they are providing one, and sometimes you can even get one for the whole time you're BFing!  If you're really committed to it, let your doctor know and find out about the lactation services at the hospital and what they provide afterwards (lactation clinic was provided by Kaiser...)  They also brought a pump to my room right away after Bryson was born, and it was great because he had to spend a day in the NICU and I could pump and bring it to him.  As for bras, I love my Medela ones.  Go to a real maternity botique if you can, and have them fit it for you.  You're in your 3rd trimester, so they'll be able to get you a couple of good ones.  Good luck!
