baby carriers for plus size mom
Hi again,
I am looking for a baby carrier and am still plus size. I was looking at the Moby sling carrier and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on it? It gets mixed reviews online. It isn't very expensive so I guess if I didn't like it, it wouldn't be a huge waste of money. Any other carriers that you guys just love?
Thanks for any ideas!

Ok, I just looked up how to make a Moby, SUPER easy. Basically you just buy five yards of Jersey Cotton or Gauze Cotton, measure it out to 20 or 30 inches wide (I would think 30 would be more secure feeling, but might be to bulky) and thats it LOL If you use Jersey they say you don't even have to hem the edges, but you do with the gauze becase it can fray as baby gets bigger. I think I might head over to JoAnnes Fabric or Walmart and see how much five yards of material will cost me, I doubt it will be anywhere near what the actual Moby costs!
I am SOOOO glad you posted this post, I decided to head over to Walmart just to see the prices, turns out they are getting rid of their fabirc section and everything is 50 to 75% off! I got five yards of Jersey Cotton (in red, my fave color!) and 3 yards of lightweight flannel (for diaper inserts) for $6.95!!!!! The red was the only jersey they had left, if they had more I would have bought one in every color LOL
Cool! I got some super cheap fabric at JoAnn's yesterday, just got a light tan color to test it out and then will buy better stuff if I like it.
Some of the Walmarts around here are getting rid of the fabric too, it makes me mad!
What website are you following for the instructions? There are tons of them!
We will have to post pics when we are done, I hope they turn out good.

I bought the Moby Wrap and while it is comfortable, I'm still not the best at configuring it and it just doesn't work for me. However, I had a Baby Bjorn for my son and daughter (plus size then), and LOVED it. Finally bought a used one for Everett and now I remember why I loved it so much. The past few weeks I wear it almost all day as Everett is back to wanting/needing to be held a lot with the colic and such.
Good luck!
Good luck!
