Trip to ER - Aargh!

So, I called my OB's office and told them that I picked up baby A skipping a heartbeat.  I was calm about it and told them that the monitor was saying her heartrate was 54 even though I'm sure it's wrong because of the skipped beat.  I just wondered if they thought I should come in so they could see for themselves and go from there...
They told me "Go to the ER - that's not good and we don't have the means of checking that out like they can"  I said "ER?" and they said yes...So, off I go....

I arrive at the ER and tell them what's going on and that the OB's office sent me.  I wait an hour to be triaged and the lady says "you mean the baby has an arrhythmia, not YOU?"  CORRECT.  "Sorry, you need to go to OB not the ER"  Aargh.

I get to LD, the woman is a complete ***** and hands me off to this sweet nurse.  All she did was listen to the baby on a doppler and say "YEP, I hear what you were hearing - I'll call your doctor"  WTH?!  I came here for THAT?  She came back and said that the OB wanted me to make an appt for tomorrow (today).  WHY OH WHY COULDN'T I JUST HAD MADE AN APPT IN THE FIRST PLACE?  I mean, I did the SAME exact thing at home that they did in the ER...and for FREE.  Aargh!  Who knows HOW MUCH I'll be charged for the LD nurse to do a doppler on me!

So, I go in for my appt...the doc says "you are going to make yourself crazy with the doppler"  HOLD THE PHONE.  I wasn't the crazy one.  I was calm and didn't think it was such a big deal - YOU sent me to the ER and all.  She listened to the baby and NO ARRHYTHMIA!  Aargh!  Baby A totally fooled the OB.  I am certain she thinks I'm a crazy person!  The OB says "sounds like it resolved - come back in 2 weeks"

I'm so irritated yet relieved.  Baby A had the arrhythmia this morning and of course NOTHING for the OB.  I haven't been able to detect it since.  Thank God the LD nurse heard what I was hearing and confirmed it, but GOOD GOLLY!!!!

So, we are good.  I figured we would be and didn't expect such an ordeal.  Little booger is kicking up a storm so I figured she was fine.
If you made it this far...sorry this was long.  And for anyone that noticed, I changed my avatar.  :-)

Why is nothing ever easy?  I thought that stuff only happened in my family.  I am glad that the babies are doing great.  I stopped using my doppler because it made me more worrisome this pregnancy.  I figure I feel her kicking around..she must be doing okay.  But finding that heart issue must be very concerning.  I am surprized they didn't just send you to a heart specialist for the babies.  My sister saw one during her pregnancy.  They were able to provide reassurance everything was A okay with the babies heart.  Keep us updated.

And of course we noticed the new picture.  Cute!

That sounds like such an exhausting and frustrating ordeal, Sandy!  I really hope you can figure out what is going on and that it is something so minor that is resolves prior to birth.

And BTW, I love your new avie!
