Holy Pain, Batman! (Updated)
Ouch!
Since about 9 pm I've been having horrible contraction-like pain. Very similar to the uterine tightening I've been having for many weeks (months?) now, but more freqently and more intensely. It was so bad that I completely disturbed my husband's sleep and his usually soothing rubbing of my belly only aggravated matters. I have no other ailments...just significant uterine/pelvic pain.
I know dehydration can lead to contractions, but I can't imagine I'm dehydrated. Serioulsy, I drink tons of decaf fluid and yesterday was no exception. In addition to my one large mug of coffee/milk in the morning, I had 1 glass of milk, 8 oz. of high-fiber V8, approx 40 oz. of decaf herbal iced tea, 2 cans of seltzer and at least 40 oz. of water during the course of the day.
At 3:15 this morning, I got up to pee and to give my husband a break from my tossing, turning and moaning. At that time, I had about 10 oz. of G2 (lower-sugar gatorade) and some water....and a snack, of course!
This morning I'm still in pain. So, when my doc's office opens in an hour, I'll give them a buzz to see what they recommend. I'm hoping they suggest recliner-rest. I got some DVRed programs and reading to catch up on!

Update:
OK, I'm back from my OB's office and still loving them there! Had a bonus ultrasound...it was vaginal...but that's so the cervix could be best viewed. It is long and closed and is perfect for this stage of pregnancy. That's good! I could see the baby's feet and arms moving all around and it made me feel good since I haven't felt him since that one time last week. It was noted that my anterior placenta was low...and very close to the cervix, enough to be labled "marginal."
Met with the N.P. who suggested a few scenarios. The best scenario: the pain could simply be gas (since the bowels are more squished as the pregnancy is progressing) mixed with round ligament pains. Worst case: the beginning of issues with the placenta. So, it's possible there is some placenta previa going on.
Directions are to take it easy today, push the fluids (which I do anyway), no lifting and call if the pain doesn't subside. In that case, I'd be seen again or go to L & D. Also, "no sex" order until my next scheduled appt. & ultrasound on 8/5. I'm somewhat sad about that. I'm sure my husband will be a bit more upset about it.
Thanks for your well wishes, ladies!

Woman....how the heck do you even manage to go to sleep after drinking all that?! I'd be peeing for hours on end if I drank that much!
Hopefully by now you've talked to your dr and got some info from him on what's going on...and hopefully the pain eased up enough you can relax in the recliner and watch your shows. I know I'll sound like an idiot w/this question...but chalk it up to not having lived in the U.S. for 9 years...I assume DVRed is sort of like VCR but on DVDs?
Feel better...and let us know what's up!
