My baby girl is here
Ashley Lynn was born Tuesday 7/7 @ 3:04pm via c-section. It was quite an ordeal getting my spinal. The Anesthesiologist poked me over 40 times and kept hitting the nerve to my leg so he had to keep starting over. It was SO painful, it felt like I was being struck by lightning each time he hit the nerve. Finally he announced that he was having a lot of trouble and said that I would be best going under general and being put to sleep. I began hysterically sobbing. My OB came over and hugged me and I told her that it was SO important for my husband to witness my daughter being born. She agreed and asked that they send in a different Anesthesiologist. The doctor had me re-adjust my spine and then he poked me once and I felt my legs getting very warm. Thank the lord he got it in just the right spot on the first try. It took almost an hour of poking before I was numb but it was worth it because my husband got to be there with me. I was just waiting to hear her cry, I was getting nervous. There was a nurse right by my head and she kept looking over the curtain telling me what she saw. Finally after about 10 mins she said they were getting close. A few mins later she announced that she could see a butt, and a moment later she said she could see dark hair. They told me she was out but I did not hear any crying right away. Then she began screaming so loud I began sobbing. I was so relieved to hear her cry. They brought her up to my head for just a split second and then took her to the warmer. She was 7lb 15oz 20.5 inches long. They gave her to my husband to hold while I was being stitched up. I was able to touch her face but she was bundled other than that. They took me to recovery and brought in my family all at the same time to meet her. They handed her to me and I was so happy! My family came in and they all got to hold her quickly before they took her to the nursery for her assesment and bath. They brought her to me in the post partum area after a few mins. I was in the hospital for 3 days they wanted to keep me 4 but I insisted on going home. It has been very busy, much more than I would have expected. I have gotten hardly any sleep at all. It will take some time before we get into the swing of things. Anyway, my miracle is here and I am so thankful! She is perfect to me in every way and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for her.
