Tummy Time, 4 week update and Thanks!
First - thanks for all your feedback on sex in a hotel room with a 1 month old. One follow-up:
At what age do you STOP having sex in a hotel room with your child? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years?
Cooper will be 4 weeks old tomorrow !!!!!!!!!! He had his one-month check-up today. He is 10lbs 4 oz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow! (He was 7lbs 1 oz at birth!)
He's mommy's little moose.
He hates tummy time, tracks well with his eyes, startles at loud noises and is learning to love his "suckie" (pacifier)
Today at tummy time he practiced wearing his new floppy hat that we will take on vacation for him. He was okay with the hat. His fuzzy-sister (Ivy) showed him how to do "tummy time" but he still doesn't like it.
Do most babies dislike tummy time? What should he be doing during it? What if he falls asleep?

Whoa Bubba!!!! What a bruiser. I love, love, LOVE that pic of him with his canine sister! Niko will be sleeping in our room for another week and a half. Dave is going out of town for two weeks and I'm going to CIO(kinda) with him. Dave is not opposed to it--he just can't take hearing his boy cry....especially not when he has to get up in the morning..lol. Niko will be 10 months next week and we still DTD(he sleeps in a pack n play 20 ft away) with him in there. He doesn't wake up....but we aren't able to go wild or anything sound wise.
As for the tummy time thing... My mom(mother of twelve) swears that babies need more tummy time than they even tell us. Niko hated it at first and she told me to let him be a little fussy about it....that the squirming was just a ign that he was motivated. It helps his muscles and gets gas out of his tummy. He got over the fussiness and loved. It also keeps their heads from getting oddly shaped.
He's such a cutie!! Are you really gonna keep calling that thing a "suckie"? You DO realize that you are gonna be in a grocery store and he's gonna be screaming for his "suckie" at the top of his lungs?
Hugs,
Angie

He's soooo cute! I love him!
My son didn't like tummy time in the beginning either. My doctor stressed putting him on his tummy everyday. We called it his daily exercise. :) It really helps with his neck musles and relieving gas. I don't think my son really liked it until about 6 months.
Have fun on your first family vacation!
