My Sono

Hey everyone.. Had my sono this afternoon..... I was quite disappointed because the sono tech would not let me look at the screen :(  She wasn't even going to tell us the "date" said she wasn't allowed and the doctor would have to call and discuss the results with me. (I had to have it done at the hospital for some reason)

Hubby kind of pushed her and read the screen and it was like 8 w 5 days..... My doctor was way off! He told me Friday that I had to be 12-15 weeks according to the internal exam.

I'm happy to know.... It's exactly what I originally thought... but on Friday he freaked me out so much telling me I was 12-15 weeks I kind of started accepting it. I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to see anything and didn't get any pictures... I am also freaked out that she didn't do the heartbeat or didn't tell us what it was....

I told a couple of people I work with and I shouldn't have... but I though I was done with the first trimester... i'm just upset with myself.

I've had some painful swelling in my feet and the back of my legs feel like they are cramping... not sure what thats from.

Thanks for reading!

Well that is just plain old crappy! I hate having u/s at hospitals!
I hope your docs call is better! and be sure to let him know how crappy it was too!
And I hope next time you don't have to have one at the hospital!

Don't be upset with yourself there is no harm done and before ya know your first trimester will be over!

sit down put your feet and up and try and relax it will all be okay!!

Hugs

Beth

That is totally crappy on the techs behalf. Everytime i ever had a ultrasound, the tech would let me see the screen and give me pics. She would not even give u photos? That is totally wrong and i know if it were me, I would request not to have that tech again. There is no reason why you should have had to leave upset like you did.

That does suck!   I know I got a tech once that wouldn't speak or allow myself to speak to her until she was completly done.  I guess she needed to concentrate or something!!!
She obviously just wanted to complete the US and go on break.

Don't stress out about dates and such.  You are pregnant... that's the important thing. :)  Enjoy every minute .. it goes sooo fast!

Well I suppose there are positives and negatives to it but in the end as long as baby is healthy and happy...Valentine's Day baby will be sweet.

Apparently, it depends on who employs the tech.  I know when I had one done thru the first OB I used they had tech's from a local place come to do the u/s including using their own u/s machine.  They didn't tell me anything..I got nothing (pictures or reassurance), it was horribly uncomfortable.  Then when their staff did them (the Dr's) they were fine about explaining and they used the office's machines and gave pictures.  Then when I went to my new Dr's we always have them done at the hospital where I will have the baby, and they are always really nice and explain babys parts as they do it and then the burn it onto a CD.  But they will never tell me, yes your measuring on date or any of that..they have one of the attending Dr's come over right after and say- medically everything is measuring ---- (on track, a little behind, etc).  I hope you get some great news about your pregnancy soon- including a due date.

I hate those kind of ultrasound techs they are so rude and act like your asking questions about their uterus not yours.  I'm really sorry your not as far along as you thought, it would have been so cool to already be in the 2ND trimester.  But on a personal and selfish note your only a day ahead of me, it will be nice to have someone I know due at the same time.  We can ***** about all of bad stuff and laugh at the funny stuff together.
