23 Weeks Today
Hi--
As difficult as it is for me to believe, I'm 23 weeks today. Our baby boy finally kicked me hard enough so I could actually feel fetal movement for the first time. It happened on Wednesday. I've yet to feel actual movement again, with the exception uterine tightening, especially during the night. I wake up moaning in pain and my husband instinctually starts rubbing my belly with his magically-warmed man-hands. Words cannot express how much better it feels when he does that.
I'm still feeling relatively well and last night I was squatting and putting away some boxes in a cabinet and two friends were amazed at my flexibility to squat and move stuff around "given my condition." I assured them that pregnancy does not equal inability to do things. I have this neighbor who is 65 and is really quite the jokester. We have a nice bantor-based relationship. Well, he's begun taking in my trash barrel and recycling bins on trash day...because he says "they've been heavy lately." Basically, he's simply being nice and also heavily hinting I should name our son after him. (Funny, eh?) So, the day after trash day I went out and mowed our entire yard. Seriously, it's a self-propelled mower...there's barely any work involved!
The only things I can't do that easily anymore are bend at the waist (what's a waist? I've forgotten) and quickly switch positions/turn over in bed.
Hope everyone is doing well and has a good Monday,
--Paula

I think it's cute your neighbor helps you out!
Anyway so glad to hear you are doing well! I am hitting 34 weeks this week and holy moly I am really starting to feel it, and just wait rolling over in bed becomes a chore!

Paula....just remember that those tightening feelings or braxton hicks are normal...but can be increased/induced by too much physical exertion and also dehydration. I had some bad ones the last few nights. Seems to be worse with the second pregnancy. But, I have been sick and physical stuff is wearing me out. Just be sure to stay hydrated and pace yourself okay. I am not saying you shouldn't do 'anything' but being pg does warrant pacing. Shari
I have to stay active! My friends keep telling me to just stop it, of course these are the same ones that wont lift more than 20 pounds pregnant,.......or not!
My husband roped a heifer calf last week, while i gave her the vaccines...........clearly something not to be done during pregnancy!! LMAO
Good Luck to you.

It cracked me up when people wouldn't let me do things, like pick up a medium sized potted plant! I was always thinking, "You realize, that as soon as you're gone, I'm picking that plant up? Not to mention painting, moving small furniture items, heck I was helping my husband install flooring in my second trimester!" I'm pregnant, not an invalid!
