hi, so i am a little over 5 months post op.  i am not pregnant, (have taken three home tests and 1 at the drs office) but right after surgery my periods became regular...my surgery was in feb. (the 2nd to be exact) i had a period right after surgery, then in march, 1-5th days, then in april 1-5th....then in may 1-5th, tell me why it just stopped?

i havent had a period, a spot, nothing since may!!  im totally freakin...is it cause of the weight loss?  could something else be wrong, i have been having a lot of pain in my lower tummy....i hate drs....

thanks!!

Don't know why it would have stopped...but much as you hate drs...they serve a purpose.  I"d go see one just to make sure everything's in working order.  I'd hazard an uneducated guess that maybe because you're losing weight so fast, your body called a halt to that function for a bit?  You know...like they say anorexics can not menstrate?

When you lose weight your body releases alot of estrogen.  That can make your periods crazy.  Good luck.

Yes, as the PPs said, weight loss, especially extreme and rapid messes with your hormones.  That's why you need to use at least 2 forms of B****il you reach your goal or 18 months out (those numbers vary according to your doctor).  Its no fun to have her show up unexpectedly on your journey down the scale but it will likely regulate itself again once you're further out.  Good luck!
