Hey everyone, I was wondering what you thought....I am almost 2 years post op...and I am 11 weeks pregnant .

However in the past few days i have been having some ache-ing in the left side/stomach area.  It feels more sore when my bowels are full.  But once I go to the bathroom I feel mostly better.  But there is still tenderness.

I am not sure if it is something to worry about or just an adhesion streching??  That is what it kinda feels like and what I have had before, Doc said it was just adhesions in there....I have a call into my OB and I am waiting for the nurse to call me back.

I hate to be paranoid, but we all know bowel obstructions can happen, however I am passing gas and poop....

Thoughts???  Thanks!

Could it be an ulcer in your stomach?  (I had one about 3-4 months pregnant)  When I went to the ER for my pain the ER doc suggested it could also be galbladder pain just reflecting pain on my left side (my pain was left / middle in my stomach area).

I was worried about obstructions too..... but an acid reducer DID help so I gave in and admitted it might have been an ulcer.

I have heard that obstructions are PAINFUL -- like bend over in agony pain.  Even obstructions in the "blind loop" are painful.

I would say if your pain is that bad insist they do every test they can do while pregnant.....

Keep us updated on what happens!

Well I will tell you --- the more pregnant I got the more my body felt achy / painful inside when I was full.

(You know, I eat like a truck driver -- and while pregnant was eating 5000 - 6000 calories on most days.)

Before pregnancy I'd poop once in the AM unless I just totally ate something crazy (fried Snicker bars and egg rolls).

While pregnant, I guess because of the limited space, I'd poop 2-5 times a day.....  and if I didn't poop I'd feel uncomfortable. Sometimes so much so I'd almost cry.....

So it's very possible if you have adhesions you have stuff pushing on them.

I hope the baby shifts and/or it gets better so you can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Hum?  Just my experience with pregnancy but I find that with the increase in vits. that I take and I guess just the hormones my bathroom habits aren't my norm...sometimes it more often sometimes it's less often...but I usually get really horrible aches / pains before and after.  I just see pregnancy flaring up IBS issues (irritable bowel syndrome), which I have very mild until I am pregnant...then it intensives.  Good luck, I hope you get some answers soon.

I have IBS, too. My IBS is flared up right now. I am soo constipated it's unreal! I called my OB office to see if there's something  can do. I have always had diarrhea and now the opposite. (TMI sorry) I am miserable and go like once or twice a week and I cry every time. So bowels SUCK DURING PREGNANCY!!!!! I hope we get relief soon.

Thanks everyone!!  I think my initial thought was right - adhesions.  I talked to the dr and nurse at the OBs office and since there is no cramping, spotting, etc....they think it is really nothing.  So I am going to blame the baby, LOL.  Moving everything around and there and making me eat more carbs, so there is more poop!

I feel for you though, I would rather be pooping that not, constipation is no fun!!  Has your dr suggested anything you can do for it?
