Ladies - It Was Bad News.....
So, in follow-up to my post earlier today, I did go in for the ultrasound and labwork this afternoon. HCG level was only 416 (at 6 weeks) and they could see "something" in my uterus, but nothing that looked like a 6 week old baby. The radiologist moved the probe around inside of me for about 20 minutes without saying a word, left to look at the pics, came back and told me to walk over to my doctor's office and that he would explain everything to me. My normal doc was off today, so his partner had to break the news. Blighted Ovum/Empty Sac - call it whatever you wish. I'm bleeding pretty good right now. I had to have my Rhogam shot since I'm RH-. They said they could prescribe a pain killer if I need one. I had pregnancy symptoms the week after I found out, then they all of a sudden went away. I should have known. I'm passed the crying stage and ready to move on. I have a beautiful 18 month old daughter and she is such a blessing. We'll try again in the near future. It just wasn't meant to be. Thank you to everyone that offered reassurance earlier this afternoon. I tried to stay positive, but once the radiologist got that concerned look on her face, I knew something was wrong. Anyway, just wanted to give you the update. Please take me off the Baking Momma's list and put me back on the TTC list. I can now add miscarriage to "my story". My heart goes out to those of you who have been thru this repeatedly. You all are extremely strong women and I admire your persistancy and faith. Thank you ladies for all that you do to encourage others on this board!

Monet,
I'm sorry sweetie. I had a blighted ovum myself. It's all a bit confusing when it is going on... fortunately things are moving out on their own for you. Some blighted ovums can go on and on for up to 12 wks simulating a normal pregnancy. So that is one positive thing to look at.... although not having it happen at all would be best. If you ever need someone to listen... my ears are open.
Hugs

I remember my ultrasound tech having that same look and the whole ultrasound just being horrible. I am so, so, sorry Monet. I know how it feels and what you are going through. (((HUGS))) I hope that you are feeling better soon - but know that it will take time and everyday will be different. Hang in there and enjoy that beauty of yours!!!

Monet I am so sorry to hear that *hugs* I had the same thing. But mine went to 11 weeks without knowing. You have a great attitude -- look at the beautiful baby girl and know that this is a frea****urence and you will get preggo again!
hang in there!
