Increased heart rate in Triplet C????
Hello Ladies....
Went today for my bi-monthly ultrasound. I am currently 27 weeks preggo with triplets. Everything looked great except triplet C had a heart rate in the 190's . They checked it twice and then called the doctor in to look at it. When she came in they checked it again at it was in the 160's. So now they did a phone consult with my OB and tomorrow I am scheduled for a second fetal echo. I had the first one about 6 weeks ago because triplet A has a two vessel cord.
I am not sure what to think. The first fetal echo was not exactly relaxing as it took 3 hours and they told me they need about 16 pic of each babies heart and they were only able to obtain between 5-8 for each. Due to the fact that there are three babies in there its very difficult to obtain the pic they need. So i am questioning why I should even do this again. If its not going to change my treatment I would prefer not to lay there again for 3 hours and be uncomfortable.
Has increased fetal heart rate occurred with anyone here? What was the reasoning, treatment, etc. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Carroll

Hey Carroll,
I am new to the board so forgive me if you have mentioned this before.
Do multiples run in your family or are they a result of fertility meds. One of the things my fertility doc said is that because I am so young (24) i could wind up having multiples on clomid. Any advice would be great! I am sorry I dont have an answer to your question though. I hope everything works out and you have 3 beautiful healthy babies :-)

I wish I had some answers but I don't, I am just really glad to see you posting I just asked about you the other day!
Hopefully if another test doesn't change anything they won't make you go through it, because wow 3 hours is a long time to be uncomfortable!!
I hope otherwise all is going super for you and those babies!!
Don't be such a stranger!!

I don't have any answers except - was the baby moving around a lot? Baby A had a higher heart-rate than B at my last ultrasound but they said it was because they were moving quite a bit. Other than that, I'm useless...SORRY!
I hope you can get all this figured out. It's no fun to worry about our babies.
Good luck!
Sandy

Always go in for the extra testing. At best, it could put your mind at ease. At worst, it will give you answers and maybe a plan of attack. Are they having a fetal cardiologist look at these?
Is there a possibility that the double cord in Triplet A is causing Triplet C to have to compensate by pumping faster? Just a question you may want to ask.

Hey Carroll,
I don't know what to tell you except to ask is baby c was moving around alot... that might explain it. Isn't baby c the girl? Sometimes they have higher heart beats anyways (yes I know it's an old wives tale) and if hers was already higher and she was moving.... I don't know.
I am actually having the opposite problem. Little one's hb sits around 120. I am worried that he'll be labeled in distress when I go into labor b/c his is already on the low spectrum.
Good luck hun and I will be praying that everything will be fine.
