Feeding Issues...Should I be worried?
I am having such a hard time feeding Aethyn. I can't get him to take a bottle, he won't take a sippy cup. The last couple days he has had hardly any formula...at what point do I start to worry? Should I already be? I am really worried about it, but at what point should I call his Dr.? It has been kind of hard because his regular Dr left, and now we are starting over with someone else..who doesn't know his history. I am even having a hard time getting him to eat his solids. He just pushes everything I try to give him away and squirms and cries. Could it be from teething? He has been teething since he was about 3 months...like the white bumps where they are coming in, but none have popped through as of yet. Or could it be something else?! He just had his 9 month appt and the Dr looked in his mouth and said it looked good, she checked his ears and they also looked good. Any suggestions? Is this just a phase or should I be worried? How do I handle the feeding issues? Thanks In Advance!!

Hi Becca!!!!
I am sorry Aethyn is not wanting to eat....and drink for that matter....he may have a little bug...does he have a fever at all or diahrea? Since he is not taking a bottle likely he would not take pedialyte right? Just to make sure he does not get dehydrated and such....is he having good wet and poopy diapers? I am overly protective so I would call as a just in case....maybe after it has gone on for 24 hours or so just so he does not get dehydrated....
Today Nathan all of a sudden had diahrea, got a 102 fever and was whiny and clingy....I got the fever down to 99 and he took a bottle and some solids (but he did vomit some up)...I am really thinking he is close to teething too....he has been like this for some time and he is drooling BIG time, chewing on everything and I see the nubs....
Just my two cents on doc.....sorry it is a new one too...nothing like trying to re-live the last 9 months with a new pedi...ugh....hope he starts getting better REALLY soon....

Thanks Ann...He doesn't have diarrhea...maybe one in a great while it will be a little messy...but no****ery. I have not tried Pedialyte...maybe I should since he isn't really drinking. I don't know! I think I might call the Dr tomorrow...even though I don't really know his new one to well. I hate starting over! I haven't checked his temp lately...he is in bed now...but maybe the next time I go to change him I will check it out. He does have a diaper ra**** has been coming and going for a few days...sometimes it seems to be just fine...nothing and others it is red and looks painful. This first time business is rough for a mom!

He seems to be having normal wet diapers...once in a while I go to change him and he is dry...but not too often. I am just worried that he isn't getting the nutrition he needs. I don't want it to go on too long....but am not sure when it becomes time to really worry! Thanks for your response...I may just call tomorrow so I feel better!
