Update from Jo in VT
Hi Everyone!
I just got an email from Jo and thought I would share it with you all.
Hugs,
Erika
Good morning,
I'm not sure if you're up yet, so didn't want to wake you with a call.
We've been back and forth to the Dr's and hospital trying to figure out what's wrong with Everett. He has chronic diarrhea and belly cramps. His leg was twitching over the weekend, which appears to be tied to the fever. The fever comes and goes. He still smiles despite it, but it's obvious he's in pain too. (here's s picture). He vomits every other day too, no pattern or explanation, and worse than the normal reflux. Warm baths and showers help a little and heating pads with tummy massages. He sleeps on me and manages a few hours a night thanks to Tylenol. We thought it was viral, but now they're trying to rule out bacterial causes or a parasite. No menengitis, no ear infection, so this is good news.
I feel really helpless seeing this continue, but am praying it is something that just passes on its own or is something easily treated. We head to the dr's again in the morning unless the fever comes back today. We've managed to keep him hydrated with syringes of Pedialtye and some formula. I'm so thankful as an IV would NOT be fun.
Anyway, sorry to ramble. Thanks for checking in. I hold Everett most of the time so am not on the OH or Facebook sites. I have faith we'll figure this out, but just pray it's sooner rather than later.
Thanks again for checking in! I hope you guys had a great holiday weekend and give Josiah hugs and snuggles from us.
Jo
