Freezer Challenge??

Hey ladies,

Anyone up for a freezer challenge?  I don't know about the rest of you, but my downstairs chest freezer is in desperate need of the items being used up and then defrosted and cleaned.  I was looking through the thing this afternoon and found like 4-5 bags of frozen chicken breast, 3lb bags each.  LOL  Guess what I have on my grocery list for this week... chicken breast that is on sale.  Haha!

So I propose a freezer challenge.  If any of you are on the frugal mindset like I am and subscribe to any frugal websites, this is a common challenge that happens.  Basically, you try to make meals with the things you have in your freezer or pantry.  You buy the minimals at the grocery store, mostly perishable things like milk, bread, eggs, fruit, etc.  Some people just do it for 1 meal a day... some try to use up as much as they can for all meals.  You really have to get creative sometimes.

Example:  I have a hambone and some ham chunks in the freezer.  I have a bag of beans and/or canned beans in the pantry...onions, carrots...etc.... Soup!!

Example:  Bag of frozen brocolli, frozen chicken in the freezer, brown rice, cheese soup in the pantry... some form of Chicken brocolli casserole.

Example: Frozen hashbrown potatoes in freezer, ham chunks, eggs... breakfast.

Example:  Frozen bread dough, pizza sauce, cheese.... pizza or strombolis.

So... anyone in need like me?  I keep buying... because I am a sale shopper... but I think I need to weed through my freezer so I can defrost and clean it.  Although, I have the top to my wedding cake in there... we have to wait until October to eat that.  LOL (Not sure how previously frozen carrot cake is going to taste)

Let me know... we can post what we are going to make for a meal and what components we are using.

OMG I am so in. MY chest freezer and my upstairs fridge/freezer are stuffed! I've been trying to work my way through it and then buy stuff that's on sale. I really need to just eat the stuff we have! I too have several 3 pound bags of chicken breast, a few whole chickens and a turkey that I got free at Thanksgiving! As well as many pounds of ground beef. Oh and my pantry is pretty well stocked and my cabinets could stand to be "eaten through" as well.

I'm in!

Infact I am in for tonight

frozen beef strips
frozen lo mein noodles
fresh veggies (onions, zucchini, broccoli)
frozen snow peas
and some of a bottle of teriyaki marinade

Beef lo mein!
