Alight, I know that when your pregnant, being tired is normal. BUT this is my 5th, and while I am older I don't remember it being this bad. I am worried that I may have a vitamin defiency or something. I am a bit over 8 weeks. I am CONSTANTLY tired. I literally sleep about 14-16  hours a day right now. A solid 12 hours at night, and a 2 hr nap in the late morning, and about 2 more in the evening. The issue is that it seems like I am o****il about 10-15 minutes after I eat. Then it is all I can do literally to stay awake. Today, the girls and I went to a parade. We stopped and got lunch. I had Wendy's chili, and a piece of grilled chicken out of a grilled wrap. I actually fell asleep in the van when we left. My oldest daughter woke me up. I don't see the midwife until the 13th and my next appt with the bariatric DR is late July, I think around the 23rd. Any ideas? Should I call one of them now? Do I need more protein? I feel like something is off, I mean with my other 4 I never slept like this. But I wasn't 35 either. LOL.

I would try going up more on the protein that can nevr hurt. I am so much more tired with this one and I am 34 years old. I have 2 boys 15 and 10. I feel tired all the time but I have had insomnia for years now so not being on my sleep pills is really starting to show. I miss sleep and man do I feel tired but I lay down and just lay there wide awake. I get in the chair to do something and feel like I can pass out yet cant. I think sleep right now is something you should take some advantage of. A lot is going on in the first trimester. If you can rest more then I say do it while you can!!

Shannyn,
Wow, I can't imagine dealing with this constantly. I hope it gets somewhat better for you soon. I am going to up my protein again. My shakes havn't been agreeing with me lately so I need to find another one that works better right now.

Diane I feel for you! That same tiredness just hit for me. This is my second pregnancy/baby and my other was 15 years ago---my daughter is 14 now. I am 43 and this week ( I will be 14 weeks Wednesday ) and this past week I started feeling EXHAUSTED.  I feel like I can't get enough sleep. I am going to work at upping my protein intake, but honestly I think its my body working hard to grow Baby. Its just frustrating! I am waiting on that "energy burst" that "they" say we are supposed to get as we go into the 2nd trimester. lol

Thanks Kathie, So glad to know I am not alone. It is a bit ridiculous. But this too shall pass, (I hope) in the mean time I am uping my protein and fluids, and when I go to midwife on the 13th I am going to ask her to check my iron and other vitamins.  I hope you get that burst soon! I know I am certainly looking forward to that!

Maybe it's twins?  :-)  That seems to be my issue! LOL!  I started adding an iron pill with my prenatal vitamins.  I don't know if it's helping because I'm still so stinkin' tired.  They told me I'd be twice as tired with twins and they weren't kidding!

Good luck!
