My Mom, MIL, and I went nuts at the beginning but i haven't bought anything in weeks. I have been garage selling i got a crib (sooo nice the one I wanted for 60 instead of 399), a changing station (matching), and some nuetral clothes. I have been buying diaper everytime I go to the gocery you can never have to many of those. I buy in the larger sizes b/c MIL, mom, and all my family have been buying diapers, too. I have got some cute I love mommy bibs and Daddy ones. I am sure I will get tons at my baby shower. We are saving now for a rocker/glider and dresser. But we have some time so don't worry;)

Only being 11 weeks, I'd say that you have plenty of time to save and buy.

Good Luck,
Leila

Ok, take a breath.  You're only 12 weeks.  You probably have at least 25 weeks to buy stuff.  You will do this and it will be fine!!!  I promise.  And if the baby gets here, there are only a few things you absolutely must have (diapers, wipes, carseat, bassinet, a few outfits) to get you through the first few days.  You've done this twice before, no worries!

All I can say is TIS THE SEASON!  Yard sale yard sale yard sale. Get out there and shop cheap now while weather permits.  This is the ONLY shopping I have done so far (this is my first) and I am as far out as you.  Good luck!

Plan your own shower... I am.. I already did my invites.. its my 3rd child..and i dont have anything.. family and friends like to help out with this stuff.. and enjoy showers! My friends mom told her she wasnt gettin one .. and it was her 2nd and a boy this time... so she went ahead and thru herself one this past weekend.. turned out great.. dont be afraid to ask for help and to throw your own shower!!!!

Im 23-24 weeks now..and ive bought books, i have like 50 onsies and slip on pants(rummage sales are great) , everytime I go to store to get my kids an outfit I let them pick out one for baby Braydon... so I have like 6 outfits, and some sleepers and about 12 of them great slip on pj's with the opening at bottom so you dont have to undress in middle of night...and I got booties and socks and tons bibs.. I started buyin items after 12 weeks!

I always wait until I know the gender.  When we adopted our son, we bought stuff gender neutral and when we found out he was a boy, I didn't want ANY of the yellow and green stuff.  I wanted BLUE!  LOL!
I'm also super cautious since I've had 2 losses before and have to have resurrance that they are real...next week is my BIG ultrasound and after that, I'll go crazy!  However, I did get a swing, bouncy chair and some sleepers at a garage sale and consignment shop.

I agree with the other posters that you have plenty of time. Other than our crib (purchased new), changing table (used hand-me-down), various brands of bottles (gifts) and travel system (gift), we really didn't have much when our LO came 2 weeks earlier than my scheduled c-section. The day before he came, when I thought I was leaking amniotic fluid, we scrambled and bought the playpen/bassinet combo, diapers and wipes.

Because he was in the NICU and my milk never came in (I still tried to nurse for a full month), we were given quite a few of the 2 oz. bottles of formula at the hospital. So, we didn't have to buy any for almost 2 weeks.

99% of his clothing are hand-me-downs so I've only purchased a few things.
