Need honesty....C section ppl please help!!
Well, the normal stay for a C-section is between two and three days post delivery. This is what happened to me:
They had me walk at the hospital. I didn't know until later that I was'nt supposed to go alone, but I did.
When I got home, I felt alright. Dave was a huge help so I THOUGHT I was fine. This continued for about two days( 5 days post-op) Then, I hit the wall. I hurt. I was exhausted. It was horrible. I know it is because I still had heavy duty pain killers in my body, plus the pills I was taking. It created a false since of wellness. When those wore off---that's when the pain started. I wish I would've started out in bed and just walking a little. I would've recovered faster in all. Don't ru**** It doesn't pay off.

Well i know ill be there for the 3 days......its going home im worried about. i had all these plans of getting up every 2 hours and rotating with the husband and so on an so forth...but it seems as though ppl keep sayin that for the first week im bed bound an cant do much of anything at all..... but yes i will not rush the whole walking around and being on top gear....although it will be hard im sure it duz catch up to u. :)
after my first walk I went alone just fine. I used the wall rails for support. it was fine.
really the first week is pretty down for most. keep up on pain meds, and walk walk walk *but don't over do it*

I had the worst kind of C-section and it wasn't that bad at all. My baby was in the CCU for 5 days and I was all over the place. Keep in mind that I took my pain medications and my pain never went above a 3 after the first day. I did have pretty bad neck pain the first night because of the way I was intubated but the section pain wasn't bad at all.
they will prescribe something that you can take while breastfeeding.
if you do not take pain meds and really feel you need them, you'll be miserable and your breastfeeding relationship with your child will likely suffer.

I breastfed (am still breastfeeding) and I even had to pump for the first 4 days. I asked about the meds because I had so much stored milk and was concerned that there would be pain meds in them. I can't remember what I was on but it was considered safer then other drugs. Of COURSE your doctor will determine what is best for you.
