Chicken Pox

As if emma isn't going through enough teething (molars, enough said)and with these allergies...now I think she has broken out in the chicken pox. I noticed a couple of spots 2 days ago....then last night a few more. She refused her bath, which is weird because she loves her baths at night, so just gave her a quick wash cloth bath. I wanted to see if the warm water would cause more spots. So today a couple more and the first ones were kind of scabbing over....and then with her warm bath tonight she has several. Maybe 30 areas some with a few clustered. I will take her to the doctor tomorrow. It just sucks because for the first time I let my SIL watch Emma for about 3 hours when I went to work...that was Monday. So, probably during Emma's most contagious time. Hermione is just 7 months old. Oh boy. I will keep you posted. I just wonder where the heck she got them?? I think they get the vaccine in two doses, one at 12 months and one at 18, so she hadn't had both shots yet. Hope you all are having a good weekend. Shari

That stinks. Grind up some oatmeal into a fine powder and mash up some pealed cucumber. Mix them together into a paste or put them in a bath. It will help with the discomfort.

Hope she feels better soon. Hermione probably still has her inborn immunities.

I hope Hermione is OK; how old is Emma?  I gotta say, I don't think we'll be vaccinating this kiddo. DD #1 was vaccinated, and she ended up getting pox, anyway. And not a mild case, either, but a month of new blisters every day! At the time, I was working and she was in child care, so it cost us a fortune, besides being unpleasant for everyone!

ITA on the oatmeal treatments - I usually keep some Aveeno bath oatmeal around, and run it through a kitshen strainer so it doesn't clump in the bath.

Hope Emma gets better soon!

Poor Emma. Hope she gets better soon and it is over quickly if it is chicken pox. I agree with the outmeal and would check with the doctor about Calamine (sp) lotion as well.

Is it all over her body?...

Could be allergies or eczema?

Good luck at the dr's tomorrow!
