No POX....but....

So, Emma doesn't have the chicken pox, but the doctor said it is most likely that she is allergic to flea bites. The bumps are smaller than pox, but still get a little white head and then scab over. We just moved from our house to this rental and who knows if the people before us had pets??? So, I have washed her bedding and stuff, will steam clean all the carpets and will bomb the house. Hopefully that will help. We did bring up her allergies again and the doctor said there was really nothing they could do for her if the zyrtec doesn't wor****il she is at least 2 or 3. WHAT?? She rubs her eyes raw every evening. And cries that it hurts. I hate that.

Then hubby has had a fever for 3 days, cough, sore throat, chills...so I finally made him go to the doctor. He has strep throat. So, my throat started hurting last night and now I am scared. I am allergic to 4 antibiotics and pregnant so scared to take anything. I will see how I feel in the morning and if still feeling bad will go to the doctor.

At least Emma doesn't have the pox. Shari

Shari,

I'm glad she doesn't have chicken pox, but allergies are no fun!  I hope you don't get strep!

Shari,
When you posted about Emma my first thought was she had strep.   Hannah always breaks out in a rash towards the end of her bout with strep.  Obviously I'm not a doctor, but it makes me wonder if that's not what is going on instead of flea bites.
I hope you don't have it.   Hannah tested positive for strep (for the 3rd time) Thursday.  So far none of the rest of us have it (yet lol).  Hannah is on singulaur for her allergies.  Maybe switching meds is an option?
I'm glad Emma doesn't have chicken pox!

You certainly have a lot going on right now Shari! I don't know why, but stuff like this always happens at the same time when you're a mom.

I'm glad the Dr figured out what was wrong with Emma. DS has been on Singulair for many years with great success, but I'm sure your ped would have recommended it if it were appropriate for children under 2?

I hope you don't develop strep and your DH goes to the Dr earlier next time.

Hugs,

Jo

Wow, poor Emma. Glad it is not chicken pox and hope the other issues resolve soon so you guys can get better. Allergies are the worst and for little kiddos even more so.

Oh that is good news that Emma does not have chicken pox. My little girl is allergic to any kind of bites such as fleas and masquitos,so i totally understand what you are going through.

I hope you and hubby get to feeling better soon as well. How are you feeling today?

Set off flea bombs and clean the carpets really well. I would also recommend topical anti-itch stuff for the bites... and you can use pure saline to rinse out her eyes. It's completely safe. What about children's Benedryl?

Good luck.
