Our birth story
Here is our birth story!
We were set for surgery yesterday at 11 am, arrived at the hospital at 8 am just so we could be early and they could get my fluids going and monitor the little guy. It turns out that the lady that was set for the first surgery ate breakfast and I got moved up! I was so happy to get going a few hours early. I can't imagine what she was thinking eating before surgery but glad it all worked out for me.
There was some worry that I would have to have general anesthesia since I have been on blood thinners and there is a risk of bad stuff with a epidural and too thin of blood. We found out that is was with the really good anesthesiologist that I had with our other son and I have had for previous procedures. He did my blood work and it thick enough for the epidural, I was so glad! I am a serious wimp when it comes to general anesthesia.
They did the epidural and got me all ready to go. After much pressure, tugging and pulling, Zachary was born at 10:10 am. He was screaming away, and looked healthy. They took him away to get cleaned up and they finished stitching me up. I went to recovery and worked on moving my legs and doing a few other things that I can't even remember now. After I could do those thing they brought Zachary back and I got to hold him for the first time.
He is just a perfect little angel. He sleeps really well, hardly cries and is nursing great.
I am feeling pretty good, up walking around and took a shower today. This recovery has been so much easier than the emergency c section with our other son. It is probably going to be Sunday before we can go home. They need to get my blood levels straightened out first with the clotting issues.
I will try to attach more pictures but if it doesn't work I will put them on my profile.
Thanks for all the support that you ladies have given me over the last several months!
