pouch pain/adhesions post WLS & post csection
Hi ladies. I know I've been MIA for a long time. Just a quick question for you guys. I'm 4 years post Roun-Y WLS, 2 yrs post csection, and had my galbladder out 2004, and plus 30 pounds from my lowest weight. For a few weeks I've been having stabbing/burning pain on my left side. First I went to the GYN thinking it was another ruptured ovarian cyst and an ultrasound ruled that out. Then went to a Urologist, CT Scan, and ruled out kidney infection. Urologist said it might be adhesions from my previous surgeries and wants me to see a general surgeon. My gastric bypass surgeon no longer takes my insurance so I'm very disappointed. My PCP is dragging their feet on getting a referral to a general surgeon. Meanwhile, the pain is getting worse. My pouch has been aggitated when I've taken asprin or ibuprophen before but not this bad. Anybody have any experience with this? Any advice? Thanks.

Hi Tra! Sorry your back with health issues. After my RNY (2-3 weeks) when most people feel human again, I was horrible...couldn't keep things in me, and felt like I was dying. They found that I had adhesions that were beginning to cause a peterson's hernie (bowel obstruction) and that my gallbladder wasn't functioning great- but it didn't look bad on u/s. So- I would say PUSH them to get it checked ASAP. Hugs- Jenn!
