Sex question (OH MY)
Man - I wish I had a sex drive - it might shut SO up. I never want to have sex - it's so uncomfortable at this point. It stinks because before surgery I didn't have much of a sex drive either (big girl + big guy = limited positions = no excitment.) Then I had surgery and was allllll gung ho after about 50lb loss. Then I ended up preggo and lost it all again. Such a rollercoaster. But I give it up 1-2 times a week regardless of whether or not I want it.
As for the sleeping. They do say to sleep on your left side - sleeping on your right puts pressure on kidney's and sleeping on your back can block oxygen. I however find that I fall asleep on my left side and wake up on my back. I don't know when I move there or how long I'm there - but that's where I am. It's not really something you can control unless you want to wake up every hour to reposition yourself.

My husband was the paranoid one
Finally I was like, "Hey, your apparent lack of interest is making me feel like a big unattracive cow!" That plus all the books he read saying REALLY, IT IS OK helped, so now things are back to normal. Not mention practically every time we see the OB he's encouraging us. Husband's must love him!

Banded 03/22/06 276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)
Sleeved 07/11/2013 228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
Mom to two of the cutest boys on earth.
I wish I could get DH to not think about it for about a week... he's driving me insane!!! LOL He says there's just something about me right now that turns him on. I'm all for the compliments and I understand that before pregnancy and even before WLS we went at it like wild monkeys but now I'm just soooo tired. I try explaining that to him and I guess he "tries" to understand but after about 4 days he's ready to rip my good granny panties. = ) My rule is "Catch me before 11pm, after that you're on your own." Anytime after 11p and I'm late for work the next day. I try to participate whether I feel like it or not. All in all though I say go for it... as long as you're comfortable with doing it.
P.S. This may be TMI, but try you on top, him behind with a couple pillows under your torso, or reverse cowgirl so that you don't feel like you're crushing the baby. And my OB said that despite what any man's ego tells him, he can't "reach" the baby ;-)

I didn't want to my 1st trimester because I was paranoid also. But once my 2nd trimester came - Holy HELL! I've been all over it! I think I only like my body when I'm pregnant...the only time it's ok to be ROUND. LOL!
As for sleeping on the left side...yes, it's true. It's ok to sleep on your right but you're putting weight on the liver so they do say that sleeping on the left is best. And it helps with kidney function.
We have an aorta and a vena cava that run down the middle of us...one supplies oxygenated blood to the lower half, one carries old blood away and back to the heart/lungs for more oxygen...when lying on your back, you slow down the production and the babies don't get adequate oxygen. Hope that makes sense! I can't help but sleep on my right side though! I start out on my left, but wake up on the right...and you want to start doing this around 13+ weeks (or sooner if you need to "train" yourself)
Go have some fun with your husband!
